You don't, you get an IPOD and a boom box for it. Done.

this happens to be my specialty.
what i like in small boats is put the deck under your seat so you can use it. mount one of the remotes on your dash or the back of the boat. once you plug an i pod in you dont have to use the head unit again. so you can basicly put it anywhere. but you need to reach it to turn it on and shit.
for your speakers i like 6x9s in the single 6x9 boxes so you can pull them out from under the bow and place them on the dash or bow of your boat so you can party on the beach. as for subs. you could probably fit a nice 10 up under the bow. we put a 1000w 10 in jimmys boat and it sounds pretty well. travels pretty good.
anyway if you have anymore questions i would be glad to help

on a differnt note you dont even need a head unit. get an ipod to RCA cable and plug it directly to the amp. that way you control your speakers via i pod. you dont need to mount a stereo anywhere

the i-pod boom box isnt going to cut it anymore skip!
yeah tony i bought a deck that is small, and all it accomidates is the i-pod or sd card or my sat radio...so that is my game plan, but having such a small boat it is going to make it difficult for mounting speakers and stuff...i am definately considering a single sub! i am thinking i am going to make 2 small bulkheads under the dash, and mount some speakers and my deck, but i havent got a clue really, was also considering making a gunnel mount by my feet, but who knows....tomorrow i will get some detailed photos of what i have to work with...its not like i can listen to my stereo while im cruising so all i got it for is floating, and beached!

Moo's got the same issues, save for the head unit location is already there in it, so why not?
Be interesting to see what you come up with on yours, I know I'm scratching my head a bit on mine!
Pickle would be easier, but not gonna get one methinks.....

Josh-
If you're going to put a stereo in it, listen to Tony, mount the amp and head unit under your seat. Put a sub in the bow area, put some 6X9 boxes under the bow or the gunnells near the front seats. Mount up some velcro straps that are adjustable, like a belt, when you hit the beach, undo the straps and bam, you have speakers on the deck pointing any way you choose.

Do not know how small of a boat you have but i have this 19 open bow jet and for tunes i have
2 10's and 4 6-1/2's. No holes in the boat at all. it has a piece of alumin mounted under the shifter that holds the head unit and built boxs for the subs and mounted the amp on top of it. I have two 6-1/2 in the front and have two 6-1/2's by the rear seat in the panel.

Looks good Josh. Nice clean install so far. It's worth sacrificing some space on the boat for tunes when you're chillin' at the beach.
