Burley, ID 2010
« on: June 25, 2010, 07:16:28 AM »
As many of you know, this is the race of all CompJet races up in Burley, ID on the Snake River. Its a large sweeping course around an island. The elevation is just over 4,100 feet and the weather for the weekend is between the high 70's and low 80's. 20% of thunderstorms today, but clear Saturday and Sunday. Humidity from 30% to 50%

I will be getting updates through the weekend and I will relay them here.

Yesterday (Thursday) was testing. The boats that showed up for testing got the following numbers:

CJ21 - 82mph
CJ313 - 91mph
CJ511 - 68mph
CJ53 - 78mph
CJ402 - 81mph
CJ237 - 90mph

Keep in mind in relation to the MPH numbers posted vs the elevation. Hitting 90 up there is like hitting 100 in Parker. These are some seriously impressive numbers. This is going to be a good race.

Since there is 10 boats, they will run two 5 boat qualifiers. The 8 fastest boats from the combined qualifiers will advance to the main. The lane assignments in the main will be determined by lap times from the qualifiers.

Just got home from the races. I have to say that there was some of the best racing today I've seen at Burley for all the years I've been going now! Wish I could make it back tomorrow but @#&$ work calls.
Good luck to all the racers tomorrow and stay safe!  :P

I stand corrected, Toby Clark is NOT driving the Splash CJ53, its a guy by the name of Jeremiah.

I talked to terry last night about the Main. I guess there was a mishap with all 8 boats darting into the first turn. Terrys boat got swamped (water over the stringers) and he ended up coming in last as his ignition was cutting in and out.

New day, same boats. Excited to see how it pans out.

Theres a web broadcast of the race that can be watched on the following link, but its REAL crappy. Skip said he heard they were going to be fixing it.
