C/J 511 parker onboard video
« on: May 18, 2009, 10:28:14 AM »
With some very crude editing software and lack of computer skills on my part this is how it turned out! The camera is a little $160 deal you can buy at hobby people or most local motorcycle shops. It just suctions on push the button and go. Looks like Ron needs a little more side support in the seat but he wont give up the suspension seat. oh well. Enjoy

Very cool vid.

Ron, I would think about a different seat.  Maybe something with some more side support!

ya think  ;)

Ron, I have the same seat as Lance....same guy made it...and I love it...even though i havent even used it yet :-\  but it wraps around you pretty good.....it was about $500 shipped. great investment. much better then the drag buckets i was using before. i got a nasty onboard video of me gettin pitched out of it.

Its just windows movie editor. I didnt even know it was on my computer til a few days ago. its pretty easy to use one you have it figured out. Im guessing if I spent some time and learned the program better, I could have alot better quality but I really cant sit in front of the computer that long.

Wasnt really sure about the music either. its really hard for me to have the patience to time the music to the video. Brad if you want to sent me your footage and some song selections ill put it together for you.

wow.....you have more patience then i have....i tried windows movie editor and rendered it pretty useless after just trying to chop up the clips into smaller pieces from the large files the camera makes.

Ya that was the crappiest part for sure. but about 12am and I couldnt sleep I needed to do something. its sad but it took me 4 hours to do that! but I should be faster and better next time. It was actually kinda relaxing now that its done. Send me your videos and pick some music and ill try and put something together for ya.

Thanks for putting that together Kyle.
Two hands on the wheel, is that the way you guys drive.
Actually with the full suspention seat, which saves my back, at times it wants to tampoline me up. About 2/3 of the time I was holding the base of the seat and the other 1/3 I was driving with my right hand and holding on to the gunwale with my left. I told Terry how nice it handled and that I drove with one hand, I think he drives the same way. I just got poped because of the video. My theory is if im going to get pitched I dont want to take the helm with me. Besides im just a rookie getting seat time, what do I know. ::)

lol Thanks Hollywood, I think thats the shot about 1:55 into it. I caught a wake in the corner and almost spun. You can see me throw the wheel to the right. Never had so much fun.
Heres the way I look when im out on the course  :D  being half Japanese and all.

sorry to jack your thread ron, but to continue on with the theme of onboard video....heres one of me spinnin out

[gv=475,325]8845488636634615722[/gv]

not sure what i was thinkin crossin wakes to the inside through a turn.....my days of road racing got ahead of me i guess. good vid to learn from.

btw, that seat was one of the ones i got from Skip....good for lake/river...but have zero support on the sides to keep your ass in.

yea you kind of tried to square that corner off which isn't that good of an idea in a boat  :sly:

you probably knew it was going to go bad when you started bouncing, right before you spun huh?

sweet footage though  ;D

honestly, i think the last thing you want to do is hold on...ralph once told me to not even bother trying to hold on, its impossible....hes right....your instinct is to death grip the wheel, but i know now what hes referring to.

if the boat flips or something, i hope to god theres enough momentum in what ever the hell is going wrong to pitch me as far away as possible.
