Long Beach Race Help
« on: July 11, 2008, 12:13:55 PM »
We will need a couple of extra hands to help launch/retrieve boats for the Comp Jet class at the Long Beach race on August 2nd and 3rd.

* You will need some sort of water shoes -  no open toe'd shoes on the ramp or in the pits. The ramp WILL be slippery.
* No drinking - If you plan on drinking at this event, please just enjoy yourself and the race on the beach.
* No Smoking in the pits as its a $100 fine.

There is a 7 boat field for CompJet and it will get crazy on the ramp as all 7 boats come in at once.

You will be compensated with free entry to the event and a high five.   ;D

As much as I would love to be able to commit, I cannot, but I am really going to try to make it to at least see the races, I will know by next week, If anyone needs something from the SF Bay area, please hit me up, I may be able to use that as an excuse to get down there!..Good luck to all envolved regardless.
If i get some free time tonight at work, ill play with it and post it for everyone to see.

Time to man up and yank it John!  :banghead:

all of that slippery stuff is from my last oil change. I figured that I really didn't like Long Beach all that much anyway.

Re: Oil leaks
« Reply #22 on: July 28, 2008, 09:48:52 AM »
An oil leak is a good thing prior to running Long Beach, but it needs to come from the TOW vehicle. A couple of hundred miles of a leaking truck will OIL DOWN the trailer under carriage well enough to prevent the salt water from eating it up. The cooking spray, PAM, also works to preserve your trailer and is not harmful to the waters of Long Beach harbor. I just saw a news flash about the beaches being closed to swimming because of a sewer leak or something..............MP

"couldn't be any worse than Elsinore."

Don't be a hater Brad, its all we got out this way and the ramps are great.  The water is glass early in the morn and the cops (when they are around) are pretty cool about stuff.  It ain't meant to drink, says so right on the label.
