Nostalgia Jet
« on: August 16, 2010, 06:40:47 PM »
It's time to revive the nostalgia jet class. I have had numerous people who have shown an interest in racing their boats. It's time to step up to the plate and lets get a boat count. Myself, Ralph Brunt and the CJ 's will do all we can to help anyone interested. Parker in november would be a nice jumping off place..

Skip and I have talked about this also, and for me it's a little bit of a money issue also :banghead: But grudgingly I did get the womans OK  to do it. So really all I have for a prob is the casholla

What if my stringers are 10 different pieces and made of plywood....is that still legal?

the only 2 manufactures of racing jackets i know of are SRP and Lifeline.  As for the stringers made of plywood are they laminated together like a solid 1x or 2x. A picture would help

Ok Terry what exactly do I need, for myself and the boat, to run nostalgia. I would like to give it a shot, if it's not gonna cost me a fortune. I know a jacket and a helmet........and what specs on those ???   And the boat, what do I need to pass inspection ???

As far as the boat you need a kill switch, seat attached to a stringer with thru bolts, a rudder  ( minimum 16 sq inches) and if you use a jet o vator it must have a stop  so as not to allow it to go any higher than 4 ft. Equipment the rules are at APBA-Racing.com rule # 3. Helmet, Jacket, etc

John, not much as far as getting the boat ready. Lucky Stiff/Skip lives up your way in Bakoland, i'm sure he'd be willing to check the boat out.
Need a physical, APBA full membership or a per race deal if you dont want the year commitment and safety gear. You may be able to borrow the safety gear from some of us otherwise you're looking at a grand in gear.
