Two heats, Lance easily won both heats even after sportingly giving up almost half a lap to go back and pick up a missed buoy.  Jim Rich finished 2nd in both heats.

Lance can use some more competition out there,  he barely ran the engine the first heat.

I don't know if they will run today, word had it yesterday the cruiser hurt some bearings.

What a kick ass venue for boat racing, nice course, grass, trees, picnic benches, not a bad view of the course to be had.  Perfect weather to boot.  All in all a freaking great day! CJ class was light (we knew that going in) Ron brought out his Rogers and his Advantage to fill the field and if he hadn't shut the boat down due to loss of power, he would have beaten Jim for 2nd.  Back in the pits it was discovered why the loss of power, his spark plugs were eating themselves.  Just on one bank, 2 had NO electrode, one was stark white, and the other had welded the ground strap to the electrode  :o Harold Bruce and Jr. came over and we discussed some changes, made the changes spun in some colder plugs (Thank you R&D Marine!) and it fired right up, the advantage wasn't so lucky, ugly noise from the bottom end. Boat ran great in heat 2, takes a nice set and sticks in the water, choppy or smooth, it didn't matter.

Spent some time with some good people, drank some beers, ate some tacos, saw some killer racing.  Spent a long time talking with Jason (Riverdad) about the Rouse Performance Boats new gullwing, WOW! is all I can say, keep your eyes peeled for an even more impressive hull soon.

Dave Bryant  Ty Newton handed out a lot of ass yesterday, he easily took the Super Stock, Pro Stock and 1 of the KRR heat wins, that guy is a MONSTER!

Yes there were some issues, parking sucked, not enough food vendors, not enough port a poopers, but given that this was the FIRST event ever put on by the newly founded SBRA, I'd say they did a fanfuckingtastic job, hopefully they've made some money and kept the powers that be happy so that we can go back there soon.

See you in 3 weeks!

That was Ty Newton returning to the sport, not Dave Bryant.

CJ 511 Creamsickle

The boat ran well the first heat. we played with the jets a bit making the primaries a little fatter. Once again Thanks to Harold and Jr those guys are great. I got to bounce ideas off them and they help Ron and I a ton on the set up. We came in 2nd the first heat of the morning. That was cool. Put a little more jet in it a little more timing and switched to Omars evac tube header and breathers. I think we are real close on the set up. Lost power 3-4 laps still gave Jim a run for his money. Not sure what happened. slammed it on the trailer and came home. Great weekend though. Good meeting alot of you and I almost have Ron talked into parker so please egg him on. Thanks again Ron for a Great weekend.

that was my first boat race that I have ever been to and I must say it was badass. Good job ron for taking second.  Mark, nice meeting and chattin with you, lol omar, always a pleasure, and all the other guys.  I will be attending pretty much all of the ones coming up inthe future lol. Now all i gotta do is try and convince omar to take the orange boat (lol or whatever we are callingt it now) back out and stick some serious power in it and try his hand in CJ lol.

So many people to thank.

The R & D crew, without them I never would have made it past the first race on sat.

Terry for his support and advise. Both he and Harold would walk down after each race to check on us.

JBP - Tom for helping me set this boat up.

The SCJB crew that came out to help and support -Beerjet, Boost, Crewcheif, Flytime, Lucky Stiff, Maddogg, Marcsrollin, PW Hollywood, River Dad, and Wizard, I'm sure I missed a few.

To the other drivers Lance, Jim, and Gary for putting up with the latest rookie.

Also to my family and friends who came out to help and support me.

You guys have no idea what this past weekend meant to me. I've wanted to do this for 35 years and it has been one of the best weekends of my life.

  Thank You,   Ron  c/j 511

Final turn, Jim found a couple HUGE holes in the water and damn near came to a complete stop.
From there it was a drag race to the finish and the Cremesicle came out on top.

Hey Ron,
From my birds eye view on the lift, I think you had a chance at beating Jim. It looked like you were drifting to lane 5 in the turns making each lap a country mile.

The boat looks great and it was cool seeing you race!!!

- Jerry
