The real question is what are you doing to prep yours for March? While you were getting it ready to race we saw daily progress pics. Now nothing, youve been awful quiet lately Rick, new race setup?

Pre race prep list : (Some I dont do but should)

Slack off till the day before . Then in a hurry , go out and buy oil , plugs , gas .

Check timing . Adjust valves . Fire it up only to find out it sounds like shit and I've done something horribly wrong .

On one race weekend . I hadnt recieved my new intake until the last second and there I was friday afternoon swapping out intakes . Of course timing was way off as were my vavles and because of all the kaos I put myself through nothing else was done .

The turn fin was another story .

This time , I'm tearing the pump down and I'm some NASA typ top secret shit done  Evil So stay tuned mother fukers  Evil

I don't race boats yet, but when I raced trucks there was the guys like Beerjet and the guys like me.  We would have the truck ready to go the weekend before, then I would start thinking up changes to make it "better" and find myself scrambling to finish as we were leaving for the track.  All racers end up being like Beerjet  Grin

hehehe...well I'm not making many changes to the boat at this time. I am changing some engine parts such as cam and springs. I also have a new MPD loader to try. Other than that I would like to massage and rework my water entry in front of the pump. Oh, and there will be a different driver. Evil

Before I put the boat on the water, I usually look for anything that has worked itself loose. I re-tighten or check all of the bolts holding the engine in the boat. I obviously check the oil for proper level and look for glittery pieces. I also look for cracks in the hull and or any damage to the intake or the sorrounding areas. I also like to give the steering a once over to make sure it's gonna work. Shocked  And now since Ming, I also look for weeds stuck in the pump. Tongue

lets talk racing. What do you guys do to 'Race prep' your boats?

1. check the loader for cracks and re-install it into the boat.
2. remove passenger side seat and saddle tanks.
3. install fue cell and rope deflector.
4. motor maintanence: lash valves, change oil, timing check, service vacuum pump
5. tighten up steering cables.
6. change shoes and adjust ride plate and nozzle angles to race specs.
7. tighten every bolt on the boat.
8. charge battery
9. grease bowl and top off jet away with fluid
10. remove beer cans from under the bow and in the tunnels

That means they have 2 months to plan on what they will do and 10 days to get it done.
