SCSC Bakersfield Races
« on: September 08, 2009, 03:00:35 PM »
I have just been informed that the races for 9-26 & 9-27 are cancelled. SCSC has decided to cancel  the races because of boat count.  There was just not enough entries to pay for the cost of putting on the race.

This is why it's important to pre register, maybe if the racers who hadn't yet registered had pre regged, this race would still be on, you can't expect any promoter to put on an event based on "yeah, we'll be there"

While I agree with this somewhat.......It is difficult to comit with things being the way they economy wise.

Things happen, especially with race boats (and anything high performance for that matter), sponsorships are way down on both side of the fence (Promoters and racers) and there is no way to make slop count the same as skill....

I hope next year treats racing a little better, it's unfortunate how this year turned out for most racing venues. There were only two whitewater races all year (as apposed to ten last year) and spectatorship was piss poor at best, it's the fans that ultimately pay for these events, if the fans don't show, the sponsors are not going to open their wallets...It's a harsh reality, be this is where we are for a while.

Congrats to Lance the and the R&D team for their 1st place finish.
Also Louis for his 2nd place finish
From me and my crew a big thanks to the R&D team, without them we would have been out after our first race.
Also to all those who came out and supported the comp jet class and jumped in and helped when needed thank you.                                                              C/J 511  Ron

maybe true, but the sanction never got approved/released. so there was no way to pre-reg.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised, it was an RPM event. Oh well, now y'all got a little breathing room to get your shit ready for Parker in November.
