SCSC @ Long Beach Aug 8-9
« on: July 02, 2009, 07:39:49 AM »
The Entry fee's are $ 300.00 for the weekend + $ 20.00 Endurance fund. I f we elect it to be our Nat'l Finals there is an additional fee of  $ 50.00  per boat to be paid out to the group as prise money.   I need to get some input as to boat count and if we want it to be the Nationals.

if we make it the nationals, is it still open to all boats? or just boats that have competed this season?

I will not be able to make it this year.
Probably wouldn't put this boat in salt water anyway.
Thats probably the race to make the Nationals, because of all the spectators and its high visablity, but I hate to think that I won't race in it.
Maybe with the next boat.

Terry-

I've yet to wrap my head around why any racing organization has it's National (or any kind of) Finals in the middle of the season? Wouldn't Ming in Sept or Oct be a lot better candidate for a National event? I'm not trying to re-write the rules, just thinking out loud.

Terry.

I will try and make LB, it all depends on how we do at Black Lake. If there are no major failures will more than likely race LB.

I have to agree with Skip on having Nationals in the middle of the season. I think Parker or Ming would be better later in the season.

I also have reservations about racing at LB not only the salt water issue, but my biggest concern would be the limited course space.
You of all people know that that course is a very tight course for jets to run on. I am not one for destroying equipment. I realize that
you have to race sometime where not everything is easy. But I remember you saying that you would not race that course any more
because of this very reason. Just my $.02

APBA rules state that the yearly high points races go from november 1 to october 31. The only races left this year is a tentative Lake Ming on sept 26 & 27 or Puddingstone on Oct 10 & 11. I WILL NOT  race at Long Beach . Not because of salt water or the course .

We should have our nationals at Long Beach with the other classes. There are no promises the Ming or Puddingstone are going to happen.

The Comp Jet Committee has informed the Inboard endurance chairman that we will not be Running any nationals this year. Due to the economy and low boat count we felt that next year would suit the class better.

It's the nationals for alot of the clases , so the racing is all out!! There is a ton of beach so bring your chairs and a eazy up and make a day of it!
You will be 20 to 30 feet away from some of the best racing you have ever seen.

There is also a program that explains the history and the rules for the diffrent classes.
