OK guys, now is the time to plan on the Parker season opener in November. If you're thinking this race is not important, I can tell you it is the START of our region 12 season and this year, '09, APBA will recognize the CJ class for National High Point honors. Those of you running NJ, still a local class, but growing fast, come on out and gain these all important available points. I know a couple of racers were talking about taking the year off due to several different reasons, the majority of which is this shitty economy. Think about this: If you change your mind in February because your outlook is looking better you can't go back and run Parker retroactively. Parker is important. Parker is the start of the season. And,  just think, you'll all be in the top 5 or 6 of APBA points for the 3 months prior to any other region starting their season!!!...Could even lead to some sponsorship if used as a selling point.......I look forward to seeing all of the CJ boats make a good showing at Parker. Remember, APBA is watching.....See you there, Ray

Could they have picked a worse weekend to have a race . Some of us , even as spectators , have thanksgiving dinner with our families at home and quite frankly , I'm not going to get all hopped up on turkey and risk my life driving out there . Unfortunalty you have a great point Ray .

Yeah, Thanksgiving weekend makes it tough for a lot of people. I personally can't remember a turkey day weekend anywhere else in the last couple of decades. It was really cool when they ran kilos on Friday and raced on Sat/Sun........But time marches on, enjoy your turkey and family get together....Ray

cj72 (jim)
cj426 (lance)
cj53 (toby)
cj313 (harold)
cj888 (brad)

Ken, did you fix your oil issues? Is Louis driving the 402? Scott, did you get another motor put together yet?

I know 812, 22, and 288 are confirmed out.

The 402 is being repainted so wont be there, I will be there with Marks motor.  I ran out of time to get mine done.  Didnt want to take the chance putting it together last minute and having it blow up again.

i dont think nick will ever drive the 222 after long beach. the 410 has been completely re-rigged from the intake up by R&D and is a completely different boat (handling wise....and looks too from what i hear  :sly: )...he will drive the 410 from now on ....i think i even heard terry say he wont ever put nick back in the 222 either.

the 222 boat is great for big open tracks (ie: burley - its home course)....its shallow bottom just doesnt like the rough stuff like long beach and parker (where nick wrecked the 222 both places)

Hmm, well I hope the 410 isn't TOO different! He drove the hell out of that boat, from a spectator point of view, always looked like confident turns made in that thing... he pointed it where he wanted it to go and it went!

I'll be at Parker for Friday, but will be leaving for the dunes, hope to see you guys there and have some good times  ;)

i have to disagree...that boat moved, but handled bad in the chop...it wanted to fly like a kite every time it lifted the bow...the pump unloaded like crazy even in burley...even with the cav plates pinned down as hard as i could push....then it rocked its way out of every turn. Terry got to test drive it briefly last week and he said its a million times better....he said he turned it at 70 and didnt even lift and it pinned itself through the turn like it was on rails.

it was a good boat for nostalgia when we were running 4-5 boats....but with 6+ boats trying to break 85, it was a real rough ride....we'll see how it does in parker. im sure its going to do great.

Well if it's even better now..... that's not good for the other racers  ;D I remember at Njba when it was against Mr. Horsepower (Ralph) trying to dive into the turns after him... but then again that was only 4 boats like you said

PW, I love that boat and the way it looks but it is just to unruly. The 410 boat NOW handles much better and will be the boat I drive.
