Mine was stiff when working it back and forth on the trailer. Once I got it on the water and under power, it was amazing!
I was thinking some of offering $3000. good price?
i just want someone to look at my junk too tell me if it is cj worthy!
youre all missing the point. This is a barnyard find. Not some abused boat or someones restoration nightmare with lots of hidden problems. Its a very cool find and worth $3k site unseen. Maybe more. I'd pay in the upwards $6k range.
for $6k you can get a nice boat that you can even take home without a busted trailer. theres just too much out there on the market right now.
This isnt a mass produced 1/4 stringer tahiti, sanger, kona, etc..
They are all fukin tasty. My long time favorite, "Dirty Dicks -beerjet-
Glasscutter, Skip, OC2 Nordie and many more nail me good every time, relentlessly, I love those guys!
Even if its what you want, I sure wouldn't walk up with 6k to start negotiating..Think about how much money and time it will take to get it seaworthy. Is the upholstery going to disintegrate when you sit in it being that old?The major point in a boat purchase is to get the boat you want and keep some hard earned money. You have plenty of ammunition to get it for a low price.
Gem or not it is still a 16 footer and will never be a good boat to use anywhere within 6 hours of So Cal on a weekend. And the paint may be in great shape for its age, but it is still brown. Ewww.I would pass on it at any price, but that is just me.
