It would have been great if they had run the saws-all through the gas tank.

It would have burned them real good.

Take the insurance money and save your $2500 towards a newer boat.

Don't let those sleezebags control your emotions, you will just end up in trouble yourself.

I'll step down from my anger managment soap box.

Youll find them if they are trying to sell the parts on craigslist...there is another possibility they may have scrapped it...however I doubt it...they put that boat there for a reason...out of their neighborhood...check with neighbors someone may have a security camera! It happened with my coworker when his wallet was stolen...a good samaritan found his wallet in front of his house and contacted him...when he picked his wallet up the good samaritan also gave him printed pictures off of his security camera...including liscense plate and the cool guy stickers on the back window! Needless to say justice was served without the police...

All in all that really sucks about your boat...truly sorry...i friggen hate theives!

its obvious they bolted up a cherry picker, sawzall'ed the hull and anything in the way and just plucked it out.  I bet you dont find a fingerprint on the whole hull.  If anything MAYBE the tongue when they hooked it up to their truck and touched the coupler.   even then i heard from a police buddy that some simple WD40 can ruin anyones hopes.

They do the same thing at the pick a part when they want an engine, they dont unbolt anything they just sawzall the frame and take the whole thing home.

start plucking everything out of it worthwhile and scrap the hull and find another.  Dont go driving yourself crazy trying to hunt people down.  If anything keep an eye out for that panther pump.  They're NOT common and they're rarely on CL/ebay.  They either took it because it was there and easy or they plan to sell/recycle it.

Did you keep it outside on the street?  Time to invest in some security/indoor storage.

I bet that pump is white or will be ....... nothing  a razor blade couldnt undo..... They must have boat knowledge because I would have thought they would have left the pump if they had no idea bout boats..

its easier to just cut the whole thing out and dump the hull than sit there and unbolt everything.  besides no one actually WANTS a panther besides a panther owner who has one that doesnt work.  if anything they're not boat people they are using the motor in a car and have no clue that they just stole a panther pump.

<-- panther owner.

I wouldn't assume it's a member, but yeah, the member map IS visible to lurkers and anyone else. Maybe that's something to be looked into, maybe not. It's a very useful tool for me when I find something somewhere and know who to start PMing, so I'd hate to see it go away or noone using it. I also know I get nervous selling anything on CL because it seems everyones "shoppng my garage" when a deal goes down. Everyone I've ever dealt with from this site is straight up, honest and generous, and I've tried to be the same with them, and would HATE to think that any feature or anything on this site facilitated this scenario. But it is possible, I suppose.

Personally, and as I said, I get more nervous making CL deals. Particularly when they're shopping my $hit at the same time. The guys (Several) who were supposed to come look at Pickle, had my address, never called again, never showed, make me nervous since it's in the driveway now. 2 hitch coupling locks, a big ass chain and lock through the wheels and another chain and lock holding the tongue jack down. Still could dissapear in the night. Since this, I'm revisiting my idea of hammer drilling the concrete in the driveway and installing pull up hooks I can lock the trailers down from underneath with.

My advice, if it was insured, just leave it go. Sell off what you can, save what you wanna save, and buy another boat. You got a decent trailer there that can bring some change, maybe interior, fuel tanks, etc. Not worth any legal issues to settle a personal vendetta. On the other hand, if you just HAPPEN to find out who was involved and no one is looking, well, there's a LOT of bodies buried out in the desert up there............I'll bring a shovel............ >:D

Ray

I'd also add, the crew that did this, wasn't one guy, this ain't their first rodeo doing it..........
Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways totally worn out shouting "Holy Shit what a ride!"

Asking the neighbors if they have security cams is a great idea.  My next door neighbor put them in last year.  Within the first 2 weeks they caughts 3 guys burglarizing the house up the street.  They circled the block in a car first, then 2 of them walked up from around the corner.  Broke in the front door (enclosed patio - can't see the door) and inside of 6 minutes had all kinds of electronics piled up.  Guy #3 rolls up in the car and they load up and split. Very professional and finished in under 10 minutes.  And this is a very low crime community, so everyone was a bit shook up afterwards.  Hell I leave my boat unlocked on the street occassionally.  The wife stresses but that's what insurance is for as long as I make sure that it is covered for more than I have in it.

I cant believe this, it makes me feel sick looking at that pic.   :'(

I never even considered the possibility of someone using our member map to track down things they wanted to steal.  Like Ray, I always considered it an easy way to find someone close to something I was thinking about buying, or a way for someone to find me when I was selling something.    But with 2769 members showing now and maybe, what, 50 active members.  Thats a lot of unknowns that had a treasure map right to my garage (I just removed my marker from the map, I think  :().

Okay, so this may sound stupid. But two things, first I've check on my boat (that's actually parked in my driveway) like 20 since I saw this post. I called my girl and asked her to drive by right when I saw it... Second what is this speak of a google map marking? (I'm mostly on tapatalk) is this something you have to setup and it like reads my gps of where I'm at currently?

First off, 702Raleigh, I send my serious condolences for your loss....that made my stomach turn. Let us know if theres anything we can do to assist you. Theres a bunch of us here in vegas who are handy and can help out.

Second - The google member map that is on this site (not available via Tapatalk) has nothing to do with tracking your IP or GPS. It is something you have to manually put. I dont want to discourage anyone from using it, but use it with caution. If you notice, my location is in the middle of the 215/15 interchange. I dont put it on top of my house. Also, I really doubt anyones casing this site for boats to steal. Yes its possible, but highly unlikely.

...which brings my to my 3rd item.....

This isnt the first time I've seen this happen in las vegas. There was another guy who had the same thing happen to him - one year ago actually. They were ruthless stripping the boat, but not as ruthless as what they did to yours.

Here is a link to that thread....

http://www.socaljetboats.com/the-no-wake-zone/stolen-boat-in-vegas/

Also take note, this guy is not, was not, a member of SCJB. He was selling the boat on CL and then someone jacked it. He later posted the pictures of it on CL asking anyone for any information on it.

I had mine on top of my house too. I wouldn't even put it at the nearest major cross streets, thieves don't typically have jobs, they have time to cruise your hood.

hey man im sorry for what those fockers are putting you through  :banghead: i haven't had my boat stolen yet but my house broken into so i know how you feel. its been about two years and im still eyeballing anybody who walks by my house. not paranoid just want to kick someones ass, break an arm or smash a hand

in my area there's only a couple of scrap yards maybe take some pics to the guys who inspect/weigh the in coming scrap, see if they'll let you post pictures. hopefully not to late. they must of had a shop or big yard/ranch because when i cut up an old hull it was loud and dusty.

i think it would of been suspicious seeing a cut up boat going down the road, NOW we all know what to LOOK OUT FOR and make note of the tow vehicles plate number.

if you ever do find the pieces of shit that did it, don't let it get the best of you. you can't go to the lake with your new float if you're in the county jail. one day they'll get what they deserve

hope you get back on the water soon
