brad, i think we might need to move this to the project forum, ha! today i had quite the busy afternoon.
started off scraping off the ungodly sealer, silicon whatever it was off the transom, and resealed it with silicone. i think it looks alot better.
Oh yeah heres a tip: old credit cards from thieving banks work good to smooth out silicone. i used wamu since they raised my rate from 8% to 31% for no reason

and then the Big brown Truck showed up with goodies from tom and i started doing this

Once again, Tom is the best. (notice the keychain)ordered parts on monday at 5pm and already started installing them

BAMF Tom!!! thanks for the pix, and the parts, ill be ordering some angle bezels and a bilge switch from you soon, any chance of getting that in anno brown? lol. ill have more pic up this weekend.
Oh is there a painless wiring kit that is pretty good for these old jets?

question on the steering rack, do the teeth on the opening in the rack box face the floor or the underside of the bow, or does it even matter?

Yes it does, more than one person on this site has installed it upside down and had the steering reversed. Don't remember which is the correct way though, I want to say on top of the steering gear.

Call Tom or search other posts here for it. The info is here, just no time to search it out for ya.

On a jet the cable exits to the left and the rack mounts to the of the pinion , Very rarely the cable will run to the right and changes this Tom

ya I knew which way thecable goes but my question was referring to the pinion, which I may have installed upsidedown, at least it isn't fully installed yet, thanks for the help

hit 2 snags today.
first i was beginning to finish the rack install and found out i need a new steering wheel adapter, quick call to tom got me setup.
2nd snag isnt so good. turns out the passenger side gas tank decided to start seeping. also tuns out the stainless gas tanks arent actually stainless, i was wondering why they were painted. im thinking about trying some of that epoxy stuff they use in motorcycle gas tanks, anyone ever used this stuff?

That one LOL, what's wrong with the one you have? I have both designs, the one you have uses a 43C cable for the reverse gate, the otheres use a 43BC (the B stands for bulkhead)..

FWIW, you will need; tiller (gotcha covered), bucket (gotcha covered), short king pin(gotcha covered), I also have a later nozzle for ya

, but you may need the hinge pin and the cable end hardware for the bucket to attatch to the cable if I don't find an extra one... $:-\$

If your wanting to get by till you get the updated arm simply make a small "L" Bracket to Screw to the arm (strap screws) with a large mounting hole for the bulhead style cable connection anchor !

good idear tom.
today i got the gunnel tank out and it was a tiny lil pinhole. so after much debate i went and got some jb weld. slathered that shit all over the area of the pinhole. jb says on their website that it can withstand gas, so i figure i will try it. i just dont have time to make tanks right now.
i got my shifter knob in, and got that all painted up. and i started putting the lights on the trailer. tomorrow after the good ole jb is setup, i will throw some gas in to see if she holds, if everythings all good, i will throw some mat on where i cut to tab it back in.
im hoping to make my deadline and be on my way out to the river friday morning. i gotta get some tires.

Hey Kev- that thing is bad ass- cant wait to see in the water- my buddy has a 21 river cruzer with similar colors and he went with black switches and bezels and it looks so f n classy- I have the stock nozzle,fin, rev bucket and off my dominator- if you want it it is all yours, it has the tiller arm and all the shat- if you need a hand with anything let me know- just up the road- how was riches dealio??? bummed I couldnt make it-

thank bo, when you guys headin out? i hear you on the black, my boat already has a black pinstripe. we had a good time at riches. i will take you up on that if i run into a snag. will the dominator stuff work on the berk? (new guy)? if so then i will just get your stuff bo and save gt the trouble of sending that stuff out to me.either way its cool to be offered free parts. this board is the shit! everything went good today. got the jb welded tank dried up, put some gas in it and hooked up the air compressor to it, no leaks, so i glassed it back in. then mounted the shifter up. went to west marine, got a battery switch for dual batteries, and got a bilge with float switch. call it overboard but now ill be running dual bilges. whats the best way to mount the bilge pumps, i dont want to screw into the floor, epoxy?

do you think id have room for a bench with buckets?

Gotcha on the "barrle bolt" , re the seats "Brown duct tape" ?? BTW that shifter TIKI is "KILLER" love it !

Thanks again tom, I've been telling everyone I know with boats about you.
Today I mounted the bilges, and made 2 panels that go by the front seats to hold speakers. It's coming together, can't wait till Friday
