I knew the old owners of Antlers, his name was Egon..Super cool old man...

Lakehead is pretty cool and you are close to everything at that resort...The water will be right up to the campgrounds because of the lake level.

I have to get off my butt and get you some outing info.... :banghead:

Have fun Brunt's!

finnally got home and unpacked  I will not forget about this vacation any time soon. On the way out the the cooler i had on the back seat of the nordic blew out some where as well, as one of the corner seat cushions :banghead: the first day (sat) we just stayed in the marina cause we got all settled in about 4:30 and it was raining. we took off sunday morning about 6:30 and it was still raining. we found this little cove and kicked it for a day  or so.

then we decided to move down towards the center of the lake

more pics

the nordic was the work horse of the week  pulling the wake board and tubes with ease and just running its ass off, we went through roughly a 160 gallons of fuel in the nordic and 90 gallons in the liberty :o. I only had to fix the forward/rev control on the liberty ;) other than that the tools stayed in the bag  ;D

the nordic just loves to cruise

i thought we were going to get a ticket for not having a flag up, but he just wanted to talk boats

roxy trying to get on his boat

now his partner a few days later wanted to talk fire extinguishers :banghead: i was back in a cove and there were 3 buoys the first two said no ski, the 3rd one that was on its side at the other end said 5mph and i was doing about 40 :-[ i just asumed it said the same thing (never asume :banghead:) so i get lit up and my daughter is wearing her life vest as she always does, he says you see the buoys i said yep, he says why you going so fast, i says huh ???, he says no wake zone, i say no ski zone, he says 3rd bouy says 5 mph, i said the one i cant really read cause its on its side, he said yup. Show me two more life vest, i show them, he says throwable, i show him, fire extenguisher in the green, i get my extingusher and its FOCKING OVERCHARGED :banghead: :banghead: he says give me the registration and writed my a ticket for the fire ext, but not for blowing the no wake zone. just doing his job and i deserved it. he gave my daughter all kinds of cool stuff for wering her life jacket

on our way back to the marina (friday) the house boat was listing pretty bad so we got to antlers and told them and they had to pump out one of the pontoons, probably 1,000 gallons of rusty water in there, i wonder how much that cost us in fuel? any way on the way home my bud who was towing the nordic kept an eye out for the seat cushion that blew out a week earlier and what do you know he found it in coalinga. what's the chances of that.

we had a great trip, i know now that instead of saving money on the cost of the house boat rental and traveling to the center of the lake. just to rent the boat in the center of the lake  and put the money that it cost on fuel towards a boat that is more centrally located. it was about a wash cost wise and the drive from atnlers was a good time, just depends i guess ???

Looks like a great time Ralph. I have driven over that lake 4 times this year and never seamed to have the time to stop and check it out. Where supposed to have a family get together there next year. My wifes family used to go there all the time. Up on the Mc Cloud arm I believe. Those are the trips you and the family remember for ever. Thanks for the pics.

Those pics sure do bring back some great memories.   I am so glad I bought some property up there to retire on.   Probably the only smart thing I did as a teenager.   Paid 18K for a residential lot 150 yards from the lake at $50.13 a month.  Lakehead has lots of campgrounds if SCJB ever wants to head waaay north for a get together.  Not much in the way of motels tho.
