We had a good first trip out in the new boat, also first time in the slough which was super nice. Good place for jets and flats (hot rod type boats). Met some real good people out there. Only 4-5 boats on the water so it was super flat all day.......... found a few small issues with the boat that need to be worked out like the crap ass wiring

and fuel pressure but nothing too big....

Wish I could have been there, I like that place. Except for the slick as ice ramp.

that ramp is crazy slick, both the wife and I slid about 5 feet before we were able to grab the boat and stop our self from eating sh*t

...... it would be good to see ya out there. This is the closest water to us so it will be a regular place for us.....

Ah Turd Bay, the smoothest water you'll find! Been a REALLY long time since I have been out there.

Turd Bay = Mendota Slough plus all the cow poop.

More of just a joke than a reality. Killer place though. A bit shallow in places, need to be selective where you bail off of a ski!

Hey bigmike. No website for mendota other than the fishing stuff. Its a small place over all perfect for jets and flat bottoms. Good local following. slow weekend might see 5 boats good weekend 20-25 boats, there is a good sand bar about waist deep where everyone hangs out. good thread here....

Its a cool group of people. Just watch out for that ramp (slickery), once your in the water go northish (under the train bridge). It wanders around a bit then widens out where everyone hangs out (you cant miss it).

We're gonna try and make it sunday if I can get the oil pressure and fuel gauges to work. I'll be working on the boat Saturday so we'll see......

I worked on the wiring all night got it all in and it will not start. It maybe something with one of the wires for the msd box. It terns over but no spark I hate wiring.

i hate wiring myself

.... hope you can get out there one of these weekends ... our boat will be down for a couple of weeks, carb issues, gonna rebuild both of them (floats are bad= dumping fuel at the top end and running supper rich) and gotta pull one of the tanks and replace the pickup tube.

Thanks I was busten my a$$ to get it wet I go under the knife on the 13th ( broken elbow ) if you need help with the carbs hit me up. I get most parts at cost

I got it!! It was the red wire to the ignition not the one for the rev limiter

I don't know what I was thinking now I need to hit the wet stuff and see if it all work right! 3 more days tell they fix my elbow. I will be down for 6 weeks they tell me I say 2-3 days tops. If I can get someone to go with me ill be there on sunday

One year I was out driving my old boat around with a cast on my right leg. Set it on the bow and used my left foot for the throttle.

They never should have told me that cast was fiberglass.

I'm a message board junkie! Everyone says they're going this weekend, Steve included but Bobby's son's birthday party is Sunday so I'm not sure how its going to work, we'll probably all be out a bit later in the afternoon after lunch I suspect. I can picture their yard littered with boats...good thing they live in the country with plenty of parking! Steve says we're taking our boat over there! I already told him its my boat though, he needs to get his own!
