Picked up first float 1 1/2 years ago. 1984 sleekcraft. Seems to have a mild cam . Runs at around 5 K and runs good. I want to swap out the intake manifold and I am unsure which way to go. High rise , air gap , etc. any help and or recommendations would be appreciated.

Not really enough information to really get you dialed,  but I'm a big fan of the RPM Air Gap on most jet boat engines,  it's a great compromise.

Thanks GT.
All else is pretty much stock. Holley 750 and 049 heads , B impeller Berkeley JG.
Old Mallory point ignition. Has cast iron intake on it now. Trying to upload pics but can't figure it out as of yet.

For a pretty much stocker... Perhaps a little cam... And certainly in a larger boat... The performer rpm, especially the rpm airgap is a pretty good all around choice. Stay away from the china knock-offs though... Go legit Edelbrock.

The point dist has got to go... I mean they work and all... But something tgat ancient has got to have some run-out and slop to it... Which on a points deal will cause them to not be very accurate.. Just an observation.

Completely true.

And to add, might be a bigger bang for the buck.

Just nowhere near as pretty as a new intake.

Remember,  anytime you change things as major as an intake, you should take a look at the tune.

Also take a very close look at internal components while things are apart.

For example,  you can see the cam lobes with the intake off.
