I ran the original optimas in all my cars. The one in my van is 15 years old, the thing can sit for 6 months and it still starts without touching a charger.

The new "improved" optimas, well, thank god there is a 3 year unconditional replacement garentee - I seem to burn them up every two years.

Something screwed up, I don't know if they outsourced it, sold the company, or got a new manament team in there - but the old ain't the new....

I just pulled the old battery try out of my boat and had one made/ polished. Got a Optima blue top and a new billet battery box, Batt  sat on the floor for a year, it just dont have the balls the old battery had. Now only the Optima will fit in the boat. Called Optima, got a new one on the way. Today is my B-day, so I'm hopin it comes today. Plus they told me to take it to Pep Boys to have it checked and to leave it there for proper disposal so I kept it. Maybe it will come up w/ a few cycles, dead charged, dead etc.
