4 strokes do get hot.  I'm assuming its the head pipe thats glowing.  Maybe richen the carb up a tad.
I use to have a blower... But I married her, now not so much.

My 4 stroke would glow big time....bike was tuned perfect...you gotta think that pipe makes a 180 out of a serious sized piston turning 7k plus rpm!

Normal for a factory head pipe... not so normal for a thicker aftermarket one.

Though I would do some wide open runs followed by a spark plug check to be sure. I've seen people down jet stock bikes for no reason at all...

My old azz XR600 glows both pipes near the head, and its stainless head pipes. Glows more after a highway or fast desert run, especially in the summer. timing is stock, but the carb has been rejetted.

Thats all I got

A lot depends on tune.i have a yfz450 with nmotion pipe kit and other mods, had it dyno tuned and I do think I'm more on the lean side for power, but when I ride at night it will glow red.my raptor 700 with duals and a power commander doesn't tho.

No its not. You might be running a little or a lot lean. I would up the jet size in your carb. The head pipe should be hot as hell but not glow red.

I have done many 100 mile races and rode my bike hard and never noticed it glow red. But maybe it would a little if it was dark out.

no its normal for them to glow red. i have an 06 rmz 450 and with the compression on them they run hot. i would recomend throwing some engine ice in the radiator. keeps it a lot cooler. you dont tend to see the header pipe on a 400 quad or lower cc glow red because they dont have the same power. it is normal but you can try rejetting to reduce it.

I ride a honda 450X with race motor. Port polish, high compression, titanium exhaust, the works. never saw it glow red.

Go up a few sizes on the jetting, I had the same issue. come to find out some bikes sold on the west coast were down jetted from the factory. My Bike came with a 130 I believe and it was suppose to have a 140 range. Now its got a 164, I pulled the spark arrester an no more red and the low end pulls harder. Jets are only a few bucks and it only takes 10 mins to change.

I've built 20+ yfz motors, 15+ Raptor motors. Both bikes will have glowing red pipes from hard 100% load runs, the stock exhaust tubing is very thin. Aftermarket exhaust should stop that, but it also has to be upjetted for the exhaust.

Stock yfz is a 155 main jet
Should jet to a 176 or so with a pipe and K&N.
210+ for built motors, but they should be dyno'd.
