Mead - July 22nd weekend
« on: June 22, 2011, 12:51:16 PM »
Okay, just seeing who might be going out. As right now a got a couple friends of mine coming with me, just going take the jet skis out to Mead for a long weekend. Going to be staying at The Hacienda out side Boulder. Any one going to be in that area that weekend? (I hope I put this in the right area)

that picture i posted - no joke thats what it was like when josh and i got caught out there a few weeks ago. damn scarey.

on the brighter side - brandon and i scouted out willow beach last weekend, much nicer, no crowd (even for a saturday) and the wind picked up and it was still manageable....all only 30 or so minutes away from his place.

Yeah I've been in some pretty crazy times at Mead, but no boat this trip just going to be chillin by Lake Mead Marina. Is Aquapolooza all over the lake? Or is it more confined to one area?

I heard bands were playing in a cove, Swallow I think, last year. You can only get there by boat. I remember seeing them pull some docks and stuff in there. looked like the dude forgot to untie. Last time I was gertting gas in the boat the lady on the other side of the pump drove off with the hose hanging out of her tank!

Terry, for all your bitching and complaining about Rough Water, Parker in particular, I KNOW is idle whining, because I watched you pull a buck or better in some pretty tough water in that Flatty on Mead that I would not have flat footed my bigger jet boat in.......

Stop it!! You're scaring the women and children,,,,,,,,,,Still wish I'da got a pic of that skag and the whole prop out of the water though..........cam wouldn't focus quick enough...... :banghead:

There are good days and bad days in all spots. Any day on the water is a good day.I almost got stranded over night last time out, no big.

But not matter what it's better than any day at work. Haha.
And yeah my chest and ribs are now in an oval shape because of a rough day on Mead. 5-7 ft wind caps on a 97 Seadoo. Smacked the handle bars because I didn't clear a double. But the good days on Mead are well worth every bad day on Mead, favorite out of every lake I've been too. (fyi I've never been to Powell)
