Sounds like fun.

I still haven't done the tour of the USS Hornet in San Diego and my dad was on that ship in the 50's.

This thread was timely. Yesterday woulda been pops birthday. He was in the Navy and woulda loved a show like that!

Heres the link to the history of his ship. Short of getting drunk in every port of call in the Carribean (My dad's words, not mine, lol), they were involved in the blockade of Cuba during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Actually shot down 3 MIG's according to pop, although officially there were no engagements. The boat was the first armed to fire what has now become the Tomahawk missile.

Thanks for posting this Ralph.  It looks like a good time for sure.  We are going to go on Sat. but haven't decided which ship to go to yet.  Maybe we will see you down there.  We are both pretty easy people to spot LOL.

I was actually in the Navy and my wife thinks I didn't do anything but party in foreign countries.  I can't blame because I did but I'm gonna take her add to see what life on a ship was about.  Hopefully they have some cool aircraft on the carrier.  I actually spent a month on the one that's gonna be there.  I wonder if I still remember my way around.

Me, momma, and the grommets will be at the aircraft carrier around 10ish (hopefully earlier) and maybe the aquarium/lunch after that.   JT if you see a guy standing about 6'6" with glasses riding heard on 2 small kids, that's probably me.  My 8 yr old will probably be rocking a SCJB skull/cross bones hat.

Haha well I will be there around the same time on the aircraft carrier.  I will be the one with the pregnant wife telling me I'm full of shit.  If you want a tour of the flight deck and flight deck operations give me a call or text at 714-395-7747.
