I have a 1979 sleekcraft SST I have the tanks out and hate the way they are held in (fiberglass straps) I have a couple of idea's , but would value any input from you guys. Pics would be nice of your idea's that you used.

If it were my boat I would glass in some gunnel supports weld tabs to the tank and bolt them in. it is much stronger, and once they are in you know that they are staying there.

Mine was stiff when working it back and forth on the trailer.
Once I got it on the water and under power, it was amazing!

In my little jet I built some gunwale supports and the tank fits in them.

Maybe I can get a picture of what I did on mine....Originally my tanks were set in great big blobs of silicone. Didn't work for sh!t...Now they are held in very tightly and still removable.

Took about an hour a tank...

the gunnel suports sound good. Could there be a flexing issue? Also pics would be great.
