Hate to be the bearer of bad news,  but,  no you cant just fix it from the bottom.   You will need to get at it from both sides to fix it right and make sure it doesnt come back.  Its time to rip up the floor, or at least part of it.  Heres what I went through with a similar issue http://www.socaljetboats.com/gelcoat-paint-fireberglass-repair/the-reacuring-crack/msg14887/#msg14887

Sorry, but theres no quick and easy way to do it right.

BTW,  I could never figure out why the water makes rust marks on a fiberglass hull, but mine was like that too.  :o

Proppy is right, that really needs to be fixed from both sides, depending on the whereabouts of the crack in relation to the interior/motor it may not be as big of a deal as you think.

Several questions, but here are a few...

How well/bad does the trailer fit? you really do not want to go through the pain of repairing it do just have it happen again...

Is this the strake where the stringer is (or would be if it continued on a quarter string deal)?

any other signs of stress cracks in the immediate area? Would also hate to see you spend the time on it if it is structurally FUBAR...

Unless you are totally in love with this hull, it may be that time, you could change over your parts quicker than fixing the one you have, just food for thought.

Sorry for the beginning of summer sadness, that sucks.

Also, that is not rust you are seeing, that is a sign of rotting wood, the wood is decomposing and giving off its oils.

If i get some free time tonight at work, ill play with it and post it for everyone to see.

Time to man up and yank it John!  :banghead:

the crack is about 4 inches from the center of  the V it starts about the middle of the boat and runs towards the back about 12 to 14 inches long

I'm with Proppy and Glenn. And yeah, it looks extensive and expensive.

Might be time to look for another hull for your project, otherwise, yeah, it's coming completely apart to fix all this   :banghead:

so just an update got the crack fixed cost about 80 bucks and a weekend to fix I layed about 5 layers of fiberglass sheet and resin in the inside and took a grinder and cut a grove  along the crack on the bottom and filled it with some dura-glass so far so good
