Winter project
« on: September 28, 2011, 07:57:02 PM »
I recently picked up a 1977 20' tahiti mini day as project for this off season (really want to complete this with my friends and I). This thing is weeded but the price was right... Needs trailer rehab (but a sound foundation) paint and interior. Motor was thought not to run but working on getting that going to see if it needs a complete tare down and rebuild and to check the pump (jacuzzi WJ) before everything is removed!!!!

So my paint question is this... What are the proper steps and products for complete prep and paint of the hull. What kind of paints are suggested. Looking to do white with an updated red, grey and black design. What are the steps to spraying multiple colors and a clear. Would like it to really hold up. Leaving/replacing the rub rail and not looking to do any candies or flakes. Pretty basic good looking job. I know alot of you have completed this task before so im looking for advice.

I am asking the questions now so i can start in a couple of months and have the correct stuff (products & tools) ready to go. Thanks a head of time guys
