first time i used home depot outdoor carpet and put it down with 3m 90 spray adhesive.  it held for about a week.  i used 3 cans of that crap.  then the carpet just got REALLY hard.  dont go that route, you'll regret it.

so i picked up a roll 8'x18' of this stuff.  im gonna end up using some marine carpet adhesive that you spread around with a trowel and it'll be stuck for life.

bass pro shops, west marine, etc all sell it.

im just waiting until im done making a mess with my engine before i actually put it down and rip my home depot garbage carpet out.
