place diverter or trim tabs
«

I have a 21 foot hallett with a 454 and berkely jet. I was thinking about adding a place diverter but was told trim tabs would do the job better. I AM LOOKING FOR SOMETHING TO KEEP THE NOSE DOWN WHEN PULLING SKIERS AND TUBERS, AND TO HELP GET THE BOAT OUT OF THE WATER WHEN CRUSING. Any ideas?

The place diverter nozzle is your best bet IMO. It will angle down farther than a stock nozzle for launching off the line and will go up to take down a skier that has been skiing to long.
If you need help just call me at 928-846-3196. Matt

A place diverter is a lot better than trim tabs, Jim

X2 Place diverter. It puts the nose of my 23' jet flat to pull skiers. It's a lot
more fun when the lake lice screw with you too.

I would do the Diverter and the K-planes or Bennetts if it's a cruiser....I love em.
The Diverter will do more, but they will compliment each other nicely IMHO
However, not being made of money, it is just another opinion.
Do the Diverter first.

Just to be devil's advocate... A nice set of peddel operated polished aluminum plates on a hallett doen't get any better. Though more expensive and yes you can't hose people down it is iconic hardward on an iconic hull. If your goal is to goof around and you're on a bit of a budget, change the nozzle. If you want to look cool and have a great cruser polish the pump to match a nice set of plates.

Its all about the diverter. imo you can do more with a diverter than just tabs alone. So start with diverter and if still not happy, get the tabs too.
