First I would post your question to Greg Shoemaker on the Performance Boat web site. I'm not familiar with the scorpion, if it's the one I'm thinking of it had a bad shut down issue. That being said I'll tell you what I did with my Daytona back in 78. Loader, Yes, mine was a center blocker depth I can't remember. Rideplate and shoe, yes, I used about a 1" shoe with a 1" back cut leaving the front edge about stock. I had a flat keel boat too. Now the reason we set it up that way was I ran SKi-Jet II class which was .030 over 454 with single 750 dp. Eliminators back then were fairly heavy. We set the boat up with a lot of lift becauce we were down in HP compared to the drag boat guys. Be warned My boat was excellent in shut down and turned on a dime ( circle boat racer) It porposed like crazy at low speeds due the loader, shoe and ride plate. We also did not have a set back pump and we moved the motor forward about a foot using a Lenco drive line. Be sure to check with Greg he will give you the best place to start with your hull and equipment.
