Havasu on Big Weekends

(1/3) > >>

trido:
Anybody have trouble boating on lake Havasu during big weekends? I have a small 18 footer that sits pretty low. Done Havasu a couple times but usually on off weekends during the off season. My buddies are trying to convince me to stay in Havasu this Memorial Fay as opposed to staying at the Avi. Any insight on this? Trying not to sink my boat lol

Just remember to set your alarm clock for early so you can get up past Pirates before the big boats come out and play. Head back at sunset and you'll be OK!

I would be staying in Lake Havasu City and probably not going past Topock. I’m more curious about Havasu itself. Does the water get too choppy to even be able to use a small jet boat? Or should I just stick to The Avi area?

Most boats on Havasu are twice ur size. I have an 18’ also and wouldn’t dare it. I like the lower river much better.

I agree with the heading up river early advice, but me personally I only do Havasu period in the off season.
