Ya need a reality check buddy. I bet you 3/4 of the people on this site have been harrased in some sort of way by the lil piggies, When they were just minding there own business. If it's not them cruising by 100 times in an hour watching over you like a little baby it's something else. So maybe you need to take a look at yourself and realize if you were a cop you would probably do the same. piggy

When i lived in Havasu i was always being harassed by the PIGS you call them?  But i dont know why it was always me getting pulled over. Oh wait i know why now, when i was building my camaro i was running it around with uncapped headers, cracked windshield, bald tires, Ya that aint no reason to get pulled over now is it?

Yep i was drawing attention to myself and i deserved it, well except for the going to jail part but anyways
I do hate Havasu, but i do respect the town and people of Havasu and of course the POLICE OFFICERS ;D

People like you get us introuble, NO THANKS.

Well said Sav. I've never been harassed unless I deserved it.

youre required to have a life vest for each person on the boat....and I think theres something that you have to wear it if youre under a certain age (12 i think  ???) ....also, have your ID and insurance....other things you might want are a fire extinguisher, paddle (life saver if you break down), and a red flag....

the red flag might be required.....not sure about that one....I am way out of date with my boating safty requirements  :D

Is it required to have insurance on your boat? I think it would be pointless and way too expensive for me to insure mine.

If you dont mind me asking what insurance are you using? does your boat have O/T headers? Did you fib a little bit to the insurance guy on horsepower?

When i insured my first jetboat, they never asked me any questions on HP & Headers.  They just took a pic and said ok you owe $120 a year so then i had my trailer insured for another $120 so 20 bucks a month really made me feel better............. Remember once the trailer is no longer connected to the tow vehicle..........its no longer insured :o

This was State Farm ;D

My jet boat was insured to 100k. New boat has the 1mil/300k/300k policy plus uninsured boater coverage. So you can hit my boat and I'm still covered. Same as my truck. Thanks for reminding me, I need to pay my insurance. 79.95 every 3 months. Boat insurance is cheap because they figure you're only gonna use it a couple times a year. I'm using Allstate. My family has had the same agent for 25 years.

When they asked me about hp i told them right around 350 and i have thru transom headers.  They told me the cost between ot and thru is outrageous.  I have progressive right now.

Progressive here.  Sign up couldn't have been easier.  Asked me about every little detail of powertrain tho.  $150/6mo.
I bought it mostly for the theft insurance as boat sits in driveway.  I wouldn't lie too much about hp as it will void the policy when you need it most. As most things in life are" Pay To Play" boys.

Allstate didn't give a damn about HP. Just tell them cubic inches and that you don't know the HP or the MPH. From there let your agent decide what they'd like to put down.

I don't know how they will determine HP but they did ask about aftermarket intake, carb, exhaust. Also wanted to know max. mph.  You can try to shuck n jive, BS, and outright lie to save yourself some $ BUT why?  Cuz if they find a reason to deny your claim they will and then where will you be?  Most "hot boaters" can't even get insurance, be happy if you can.

My jet boat was cheap. I let my guy know I had OT headers, he said it wasnt a big deal. Wanted to know how fast it went. I told him I didn't know, because I didn't I hadn't even been to the water with it. Didn't take a picture of it or anything.

Stickers can't prove it's fast... If that was the case, every border brother driving a Honda would be without insurance. Wait that is the case!

I don't know anything about insuring a boat.
 ::)

With that said I do know quite a bit about insurance with auto's and the losses that are involved with them. If you have an insurance company asking you how much est HP/mph your boat has and then you claim it as a loss they are only going to pay for what you claimed originaly. So if you lie and claim a 330 HP engine and your 650 HP engine is stolen what do you think they're going to pay you for when you do have a loss? Correct, a 330 HP engine. My .02

by state farms definition..must be "pluged-in electronically to your tow vehicle , not just attached to the ball....to be insured by the tow vehicle
