Havasu: Where to stay?
« on: June 09, 2010, 02:45:58 PM »
I have some friends who want to go to havasu and asked me where is a good place to stay there? Since I've always had a place to stay there, I have no idea where to tell them to go.

what do you guys suggest?

x2

If they are looking to go low budget, Windsor Inn is normally about $45 a night, clean rooms, decent place.

It really depends on their budget.  The prices in Havasu are all over the place.  If they want to stay on the water, I personally like the Nautical Inn Beach Suites.  The rooms are expensive but it sure is nice to wake up and walk to your beached boat on the water.  Also, you don't really need to drive anywhere once your there, since they have the store, bar and restuarant on site.

Thats the beach my first boat turned into a bath tub on, good old Nautical Inn, don't recommend beaching your boat over night I learned the hard way. But really nice place to stay, Beach for a few hours and chill in the room no problem not over night.

Yeah, your right I guess I shouldn't have used the word beached.  Actually, I have never beached the Hallett there, we just threw out the anchor and the sandspike when we have stayed there overnight.  I haven't had any problems but I have seen some beached boats get slammed around on the Beach Suite side of the Nautical Inn.  I haven't heard about any problems with the cove side of the Nautical Inn.    However, I know what you mean about a bath tub I have seen some pretty crazy pictures and video of that place during a storm.

Here's a picture of the Hallett during Desert Storm 2009.

Jerry,

I think ive heard of that deal....you end up having to sit through a 2 hour sales pitch of them trying to sell you a condo....not how i'd like to spend any weekend lol

they ended up getting rooms at the Island Inn

thanks for the suggestions everyone

If you are looking to rent a house, sometimes cheaper than a hotel, check out www.vrbo.com   Lot of houses listed there and some for just about any budget.

If I am going anywhere for more then a day or two I always check that site. Just have to watch some of the "cleaning fees" that people try to throw on there.
