According to information from the park, water in the harbor is approximately four feet deep, and it will drop at a rate of six inches per week for the next six weeks as levels in the big lake continue to fall. By September 26 there will be about three and a half feet of water in the harbor, which is not adequate for safe operation of many boats.

Although an exact date for the closure hasn't been announced, it's imminent. The Boulder Harbor ramp will be blocked off with concrete barriers and closure signs, and the entrance to the harbor will be buoyed. The closure applies to both "launching and retrieval of boats and other watercraft at Boulder Harbor, and is officially described as "temporary."

Man that really sucks I am wondering the same thing how low will the lake get?

Yeah I wondered the same thing myself as the previous weekend my friend threw his keys to his truck at my boat to the passenger in my boat....as I was saying dont do it the keys hit the gunnel of my boat and fell into the lake....as I dove in beccause no one was doing anything I quickly struck the bottom of boukder harbor...i said it wont be long before they close it...im moving to lake mead marina, because my friend moved their houseboat there....no more calville for me...when the bridge opens I might move to willow beach...where its river just below the dam

i seen it..very interesting episode...i think the main point they were making with that was how they (engineers) would do it differently today with today's modern engineering compared to the knowledge and technology they had back then. surprisingly it wasn't much different. just some improvements.

i don't think any of that will ever be executed. but there is a plan to modify the turbines so they will continue to generate enough power at lower lake levels.

Just watched a thing yesterday on the colorado...it was on travel channel, and learned quite a bit, but I have my own theories on why the lake is so low....usually sept oct the lake raises signifigantly....seems that way after the lower river recreational season is over....think about how many places that river supplies/supports....sad to see the lake whither away

It's pretty obvious just like any other business. They're selling more water than they get. Somebodies getting paid. Why are we sending water too mexico? We should cut them off and half of california, we dont need to water all their golf courses. It's all just plain greed and stupidity. They wont do shit till their lights start to dim.

It's still a big ass lake. I went out yesterday and cruised the whole AZ side after hitting Callville. There is going to be hazards. If you raised the level two hundred feet you'd just have to deal w/ the rock and peaks two hundred ft up, know what ah  mean? The ramps are the only problem for me..........and wake barges........and jetskis

so what about all this weather we have been having? i know it dumped quite a bit of snow higher up. gotta raise the lake level a least a bit when it starts melting. probably wont  make that much of an improvement but a little is better than none at all. whatcha think? agree? disagree?

i got reports the lake has been raising a foot a week, and run off hasnt begun...but of course they arent realeasing as much water either, but the rockies on the west side got 150% more snow then last year...So i'll remain optimistic...When the lake gains a foot we gain 10 feet of shoreline, so the marinas have been moving once to twice a week...even still when the runoff comes in the lake might go up 15 feet or so, and probably go down 25 throughout the summer  the good news is if the rockies continue to get snow on the west side like this year it may balance out in a couple of years, and possibly come up!

a foot a week? damn thats good news. lets hope this continues.
