Lake Powell
« on: August 27, 2010, 12:28:09 PM »
Who knows where to go at Lake Powell? (I know its not mead, just 1 dam up  :) )
We want to camp on the beach, be a reasonable distance from the dock (fuel wise) and see some of the sights. Is a 21' daycruiser big enough? Launch sites? Any info would help.

Thanks
Daniel

Two ways to go - stay at the camp ground at Waweep or try to find a beach around Dangling Rope. Be aware that the lake is up so beach space is limited. There is one great canyon close to the dam, but the arches and the other good stuf is closer to the Rope. I stay at the hotel and travel back and forth; watch out for the tour boat, I can fly my 30 footer of the wake - HUGE!
