Well, of course Ray's going! Was my first boat driving experience EVER last year! Nordie hasn't dropped the ball on it at all, really. He, Skip and Brad came up with it last year and that noise didn't even start until late February. (I know, I was up most nights building Moo to make it!)

I'll start a new thread for the roll call on the Temple dealio. We also need to decide who's bringing what for the BBQ and what not Fri and/or SAT nights. I'll bring the grille again, wanted to make the Chile, but Crewcheif beat me to it and MAN what good Chile! (Not the Ralphy CDC Quarantine stuff either! GOOD STUFF!).

In the mean time, Brad, with the upgrade you just did, is there a way to create a section JUST for the SCJB gatherings? Maybe a Calendar of Events? (With sub-posting capability, you KNOW how we all go off track a LOT!)

I think, this past year, we've established the Temple Bar trip, the Big River trip over Fathers Day, and the AVI trip in October. I know I am missing at least one more, and not including the Blythe trip we all planned on, I think in August, that fell apart for obviously tragic reasons, (I think we need to pen that one back in this year for Tony and Jimmy, they did a TON of work on that).

Leaving us some wiggle room for even more this year! May is open, April, July, September...... I know the racing schedule has a lot to do with it, but these gatherings have seemed to me to have gotten bigger and bigger! (Now that I mention it, on the racing schedule is Firebird in November, and I have no problem hosting an event here at the lakes I terrorize with the local East-Siders).

Just my .02

Ray

yes, the site has that ability. I can create events in the calendar then link the event to a thread. so when you click the calendar event, it takes you straight to the corresponding thread.

.....BUT this is where i have to pull out the CYA card (cover your ass).....unfortunately, theres bad people in this world who do dumb things. ever notice theres no 'official scjb' events? you guys put the events together, i just attend them. theres a liability if i put together a big event and someone gets drunk and stupid (god knows that never happens in our group  ;D) and someone gets hurts (and thank god no one has yet)....im liable.

so, by me going as far as linking a gathering type event in the calendar could possibly make me liable. depends on how good your lawyer is and how well he can spin it.

that being said, i only do that for organized boating events like regattas, races, shows, etc. I havent done it in the calendar as of late, but will be updating it shortly.

Thanks Brad!

I fully understand the legal part of it (from a family with lawyers in it, GAWD Thanksgiving there sucked!).

But I see Potential here as well! As taking the legal responsibility from SCJB and unto ourselves, can you create a menu option that says "Member Gatherings and Events"? I think that would suffice as a catch all. The events threat seems polluted with race stuff (Not a bad thing).

I guess it's a catch-22. But if Brad's willing to create a "calendar of events" thread, it's up to us to follow up on it!

Just made the room reservations! If there is a role call put me on it. +1 Fiancee.

Ray, Daughter is not going to make it. Court proceedings did not go EXACTLY as I had hoped but it was better than what it could have been. I don't expect she will be there.

Can't wait to see everyone again.

I never put my name in on this trip because I didn't know if I was going to be able to make it...

Well, now I know for sure I won't be able to do this trip

Just in case it is not clear, the Aquaholic and I are in for this trip. Both bringing the women folk with us too. We are sharing a room and it is already booked. Where is the role call for this Get Together.

Brad,
I wish Jen was coming. My girl (Gretchen) really enjoyed hanging out with her at the Big River trip last year. Understand though.

Can't wait to see you all.

I made it to Sandy and back with the Hondo with problem, but I wouldn't try going any farther without bringing some extra fuel.
