The No Wake Zone / Re: Docking
« on: October 16, 2018, 11:49:49 PM »
When docking, I finally learned that you use the FOR/REV lever to control speed. Step on throttle just off idle and use the lever to ease into where you are trying to get the boat to go. Wanna go slow, less forward. It takes a little practice, but I found this method to give me better control than blipping the go pedal and swinging the steering wheel left and right. Hope this helps. Good luck..... BTW, I learned this from someone's recommendation on this forum

Hope this helps. It keeps my lever forward, but still let's me go into reverse and neutral easily. It just doesn't creep out of forward like it used to.

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Re: electric fuel valve

I run manual valves at each tank, one tank at a time. Never any electrical issues. I only reach back there once; when I run out of fuel in one tank. I also run 2 gauges, but I have the room on my dash.

Clearance has to be checked between impeller and new wear ring. Shims are added between front bearing retainer and pump housing to achieve the correct clearance between wear ring and impeller

Shout out to Mash On It (Daniel) for the great info. He was able to walk me through the process of setting the clearance on my impeller. After a few tries I have it set at .020-.025 woth a new wear ring. Its much easier now that i know how to do it. THANKS AGAIN!!!!

Initially the deal was the hull, stainless 4" exhaust tips, tanks, fuel fills, ride plate, cradle, and grate. Then the man threw in a go pedal, for/rev handle with billet knob, and transom ring even though I got him to come down on his price. I think he saw how excited my lil brother was so tried helping out with his new money pit. Very nice older gentleman. We really appreciated it. Every bit helps!

Thank you to alm those who chimed in on any of my questions. This is the first boat project I have ever had. I bought it as a complete prohect. It needed EVERYTHING! Took it out to Havasu this past weekend I didn't even have time to test it here at home. I worked on it till one hour before I left my home on thurday night. Boat ran very well. I do have a starter issue though. But when it was running, IT WAS AWESOME!! Thanks again guys! Whatta great forum!!!!!

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Re: MSD or HEI

Decided to go HEI. ease of installation, simplicity, less parts, and parts availabilty. Gonna save the MSD for land hot rods. Thanks for input!

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Re: Fuel pressure reading
« on: June 10, 2014, 11:08:59 AM »
I believe line pressure is what you want to read. Not pressure IN the bowl. Which is what you would be reading by putting a gauge where you want to. Your reading should be before it gets to the bowl but after the regulator. INLET PRESSURE. but what do I know. My .02 cents.
