It needs my name on the title and my ass in the drivers seat. What a beauty.

This thread is like 3 years old,  but the Facebook thing was discussed and agreed upon. I put it to the FB page users to urge those not on Socal to sign up.

Just saying.

The Facebook thing is just a little bit more accessible is why it took off. Not sure if you really want ALL of those users over here,  some of them are dildos.

Lol......couches....... yeah I raced Motocross pretty much my whole life from I was about 5 til about 27. Got too old for that shit, too many injuries. But..... the wife wants to go riding and do some desert stuff so, I figured these recliners with balloon tires must be pretty comfy, plus, they were FREE.
And Dennis...... at least you have a fast boat now....... from what I hear, I drive a "station wagon"  :'(  haha
Haha lol ya I move up lol. I raced pro for 2 years and quit when I was 21 and real life hit. And as far as the station wagon.... To me it don't matter what you have as long as it floats and there are river sodas that are cold 🍻

Gimme that BECKY!

Random Boat Parts For Sale / Re: Holley marine carburetor

I'm interested but will it bolt on to my bbc 454?

Pretty much no matter what?

What intake do you have and what flange?

There are adapters to go from spread bore to square,  Dominator to 4150, carburetors are fairly universal.

The one thing I would do to this carburetor for a jet boat application is to install the lightest secondary spring in the pot.

Should be very reliable.

I'm sitting in bumper to bumper traffic on the 91, figured this could be a cool topic since anyone that lives in California deals with traffic almost on a daily basis.... Today I would like to focus on What middle school and high school kids should learn to better their lives instead of bullshit classes like ceramics, drafting, art, computer and drama. They should teach gun control, taxes, sex Ed real sex Ed not some bullshit, self defense, resume writing, interview classes, money management, basic citizens rights, healthcare since it's the law now stupid ass Obama , purchasing cars and homes, applying for college and college loans. Just a little traffic discussion to pass time. Feel free to argue or agree 👍🏻

First off, I do agree that there does need to be more "life skills" classes offered in our public school systems. But 3/4 of kids today don't even care enough to pay attention to what is going on in the classroom.
2 problems, students think cellphones/social media is more of a priority and are constantly on them in the classroom. Secondly, now that "Joe" didn't care and isn't doing well in school who does the parents blame. Not the kid who dosnt care, shows up late and is constantly on there phone. The parent blames the teacher who is under payed, under funded, and has a over crowded class room.

Now, next time you want to go calling art and ceramics bullshit classes you should think about what you are saying. 90% of students that take these classes are the kids that are better off and trying to prepare themselves for college, Because? They are college requirements !!!!!!!Good arts teacher actually integrate a ton of life skills into their curriculum like resume writing, cost, and selling.

How would I know, Ive been a ceramic arts teacher for six years now. Now I do agree common common core is a crock of shit, I do think ceramics and other arts are essential to give these kids a creative out.

Sincerely a bullshit ceramics teacher

If you actually go up to Silverwood today, let me know how that overall experience was. I was told by a number of people that with boats set up like ours they will give us the real stink eye and hassle us about noise and watch like a hawk for speeding. Also how anal are they about the mussel inspection?, and would you go back up there again? If all went well, I could join you and the others perhaps next time.
I've taken my boat up there probably 15 times, not once have I been hassled or even looked at, they are very very strict on inspections, not a drop of water coming from anywhere on the boat. Really it's a nice spot.

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Re: Roller Rocker
« on: July 30, 2015, 02:38:53 PM »
Itís all about friction reduction and rocker stability at higher RPM. Quality and make are important plus material, trunion diameter, ratio (effect's valve lift) and will the rockers clear the valve spring retainer. Plus donít overlook sometimes when changing to a roller rocker push rod length will be incorrect for the proper contact pattern across the valve stem tip. Purchasing a used cam for a person with an educated eye is no big deal, but to most others itís a big no, no. A roller cam isnít critical for lifter to lobe sequence, but on a flat tappet it is, every lifter has to be marked to what lobe it came off of. If you donít know, shit can all the lifters and buy new ones with the proper break in lube if the camshaft itself passes a good visual inspection. With the addition of roller rockers you will never feel the difference in performance, but perhaps you will with the cam swap, but on the other hand if the cam is not a well match for your set up it can hurt performance. You really have to know where you are now with your performance and present specís, remember, one or two or seven parts are not responsible for power production, itís the entire engine combination. Choose wisely, good luck.
