Jet Pumps / Re: Loader for Berkeley R Intake
« on: November 05, 2017, 07:34:12 AM »
Jack at MPD modified my R intake years ago to accept a 4 bolt loader.  Very custom work !!  Don't know if he would attack a project like mine again, give him a shout....never know.

That is one of them Jack.... just don't see the roostertail flying behind...lol.  Might have been an early version pre old school beer tab install......ha.  Thanks for the memories !!!! Remember spending hours joining wood, then cutting to form a v bottom front, flatty rear, painting, installing model engines and having a blast !!  I was only 7 yrs old then pulling my boat in between yours and Dad's races.

Yea, SWTD is a slightly bigger toy  LOL !!  Especially with your one off highly modified R intake and pump doing what it does best !!

Hey Jack.... any of those old super 8 movies have video of me pulling the homemade boats with a stick on the shore.... with a old style beer tab underneath to create a 'roostertail' ?!?!?!?

Again, thanks so much for sharing the old super 8 movies !!  Mom was the camera operator at each race over the years, so glad you were able to get these converted to video from the old film reels.  Only problem back then is the camera did not have audio.

Jet Pumps / Re: Setting Berkeley pump

Looks like an R with the 6 bolt loader setup to me.  As was said, replace with a standard or have Jack at MPD modify it to a 4 bolt as he did mine in the past.

With Jack doing the pump to match the CI's and HP..... let along Bennett matching the fish side to the water.   If not an off the hook lake monster to enjoy..... then fire both of them  !!!   HA....LOL

Do you need a head unit for radio or other ?  If not, Ipod direct to amp input with a switch wired into the remote connection to turn on and off...  simple and been working in mine for several years now.  Just always remember to turn Ipod on first and volume down before flipping switch to amp on.  Ipod, Iphone, Windows phone, works for all.

Have a Wolfer copy of a SWTD....  Built strong for its use, has all the modifications for its year and a low pro R intake.  On mine, Jack modified the intake for a 4 bolt loader versus the old school 6 bolt shovel from back in the day.

Yours is a copy of a v bottom Southwind or Hondo or all the others that were out at the time.  If its built like the SWTD copy, then should be good in my opinion.

Enjoy.... !!!!!!
