Had same issue bolts were slightly loose so it pushed gasket out. Make sure surfaces clean and flat then replace gasket and tighten. Re tighten after running it a couple of hours

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Re: Piston cylinder clearance
« on: August 13, 2016, 07:33:34 AM »
So the problem is you have a block that doesn't heat up as much due to cold water cooling so it doesn't expand at same rate as your rotating assembly so your crank is hot which when metal heats up it expands it needs more clearance than your closed cooling system which everything heats up evenly. Rod clearance is .0025-.003 mains .003 and Piston to wall for my JE forged pistons calls for .004-.005 + an extra .002-.003 for our cold blocks. I would call your piston manufacture to make sure what that piston needs for cold water pickup

Been going to orchard springs campground for years, nice people! Campsites are not bad they have hookups for the fifth wheel. Small beach at launch for kiddos. Rollins is small but the water is nice. For us it's worth the drive to hit Bullards bar bigger lake and fuel at the dock

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Re: Dry headers
« on: June 13, 2015, 11:11:51 AM »
Dry headers run very hot but do have advantages but I prefer wet it quiets the exhaust headers run cooler and if set up right are not hard to maintain. Some lakes will require baffles and wet headers. Wet headers inject a small amount of water right after exhaust leaves motor it is controlled either by a tee that has a spring in it to not turn on water until motor hits 1800ish Rpms, a manual valve by drivers seat, or I use a rpm activated switch and a electric valve so I can turn on water at whatever rpm I choose
