The No Wake Zone / Re: What did you do to your boat today?
« on: March 26, 2016, 10:02:53 PM »
I did some Redneck Engineering today. I got a head unit that I was going to put in the same hole that my old speedometer was in. Come to find out the head unit was 3" and the old speedometer was 3 3/8". No problem I just cut the back off the old speedometer housing, pulled the guts out, broke out the glass and made a perfectly good housing/bezel for my head unit. 🤗 No fiberglass work for this guy!!! Had a fun day mocking up kick panels for the speakers. On the down side I found more stuff I need to fix before the season starts. Nothing big just some small stuff that could lead to bigger things.

Jet Pumps / Jetovator question.

When I was replacing my steering tube I fractured my adjustment clamp. I put it back together that way and everything is real tight. Should I have to worry about it?

Took an early day from work to wire and do the final set up on my gauges. Replaced my old tachometer with a depth finder / water and air temp gauge.

These are Torinos. If you notice they have a fatter cut to the bow and a cowling look on the deck. They also have horizontal under lines over the more vertical lines that the Executives have.

This is my 20' Tahiti Executive. It's the same boat that's in the other pictures. I have the catalogue that came with the boat that calls it an Executive in 72. Did they offer the same style under a different name in another year?

I currently have a JC pump. Are the bowls interchangeable? Can I put another bowl other than a C bowl on my pump without a problem?

She put up one hell of a fight. It finally took a long metal pole and a sludge hammer to break it loose. With a coordinated effort from the vise gripes and filter claw and channel locks. Thanks again guys.

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Milky oil & Stuck oil filter!!!!
« on: March 14, 2015, 07:42:48 PM »
Thanks guys I have used a strap wrench, claw wrench, self adjusting oil filter socket wrench, driving a screw driver threw it. The next step is the large vise grips. I don't have one big enough so I'm headed out to buy one tomorrow.
I hope that does the trick. I will update tomorrow. Thanks again.

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Milky oil & Stuck oil filter!!!!
« on: March 14, 2015, 05:17:15 PM »
Ran my boat on the hose for a few minutes today to check a few things out. I forgot to turn on the fuel pump and it stalled when I was making a quick carb adjustment. Now I have milky oil. I'm new to this site and jet boats so I hate to ask a dumb question, but is that common or should I start looking at heads & gaskets?

Another thing. I drained the oil and was changing the filter after that and my filter must have been put on by a superhuman because I have tried every trick in the book and can't get the dam thing to budge. I even took out the header on that side to get better leverage. Any suggestions will help. Really don't want to pull the engine.
