Jet Pumps / Running Engine at Home
« on: August 28, 2017, 08:05:46 AM »
You always read don't run your jet out of the water.  Yet you see a lot of folks running their engines at home.

So what is the best way to run your engine at home for such things as setting float levels in the carb and adjusting idle screws etc before heading out to put the boat in the water?

If anyone has his bike please return it to this address:

352 Laverne Ave
Long Beach, CA 90803
(562) 433-6475

I heard he will be offering a reward of a Gluten Free Organic Tofu Burger.  Of course, the Tofu will be Tar Tar as not not create any future global warming.

Well, the tunnel's going on Tuesday, if I planned my week right. Also lined up a guy to permanently name the boat. Any last minute suggestions? So far I'm tossed between, "That Damn Cow Boat", "Udder Nonsense" (Udder Mayhem is growing on me), and just plain "Mooooo". There's also "A Mooooving Experience", "Moo-Haul", I'm worrying myself more over this stuff than anything else on the boat.

Anyone find themselves in or near the PHX area and need this sort of thing done, I can hook you up. The guy works for me sooo, I know where to find him. Does FANTASTIC work, all freehand. He makes all of our signs for the store now (Not that he likes it, but....)

Udder Nonsense gets my vote!

And no, thats not how he finds these things .

Well since that sight canvases the whole country for all Craigslist regions, ebay and the recycler among others I believe it is a great resource if you are looking for anything in particular.  I believe its a resource he uses unless it was actually someone else that sent me a link that had his boat listed on it and not himself that sent me the link!

My friend used to be the mayor there, my friend used to own the bar the Hitching Post and yet another friend owns All American Trailers on 6th St.  They are also very patriotic as the center stripes down 6th St is Red, White and Blue instead of yellow or white.

Thanks for the invites but I have been working so much between my job and wrenching on the USAC Sprint Car team I work with that my house has turned into a dump!  I have spent the day doing laundry and just now got onto the message board to see your post.

I have to get a bite to eat and then head out to work.  If I can, I am going to try to take my boat to the lake on Thursday for its maiden voyage.

The Fred Hall fishing show has been going on since Wed and runs thru Sun. I will be there Sat. Lot of killer deals there.  Ya I know its not about jet boats, so ya all thinks I may be nuts. My brother and I are into shark fishing, and need to resupply. Lot of the lures we use, needless to say got chewed up. BUT it is done on a BOAT!!!! ;D ;D   So does that qualify ???   Just curious if any of you guys are into fishing ???

Where is the show at?

PS.  Threads like this need details!

Look on ebay for a hitch.  They are usually dirt cheap on there and the shipping usually isnt too bad.

Was questioned why I felt this necessary. Can tell you this. The kids are important to me. That, and me being the inventive person I am, this didn't meet the approval of anyone who saw it. (damn, shoulda been easy)

Just got your message, I was out of town working on a USAC Sprint Car in Vegas and California.

I think a cattle guard would be more appropriate for your boat instead of the kid fence.

Do you have any pictures of the boat in the water?

That is a very nice looking boat.  Can you give me more details on it (what you have done to the engine/jet etc.) performance wise and what kind of speeds and fuel consumption.  How long have you owned it etc.  I have mine 99% buttoned up just a couple of interior pieces to put back in and I am going to try to go to Saguaro Lake next week with it for the maiden voyage.

What do you want for the Ski Tow?

I'll donate what I can, dont know what it is yet since I just started back to work after about 2 months off.
I have a BBC ski tow for sale in brand new condition (chrome <---- Coincidence  ???) and whatever else I can part with I'll cough up for the chrome homie !

You just learned a very valuable lesson!  When tuning or changing a part of anything you are working on!
