Sad news, lifter froze destroyed  the cam. Block goes to machine shop tomorrow. Hopefully back up and running in a few weeks. Irony is she was still purring. Only heard the tick putting it on the trailer. ☹️

Looks like your thermostat housing has a plug where you can install your gauge as well.

Before you invest in a bigger carb test the one you have with a vacuumed gauge attached to your intake. If the pressure is near zero at WOT then an 850 is not necessary IMO. There should be a couple different spots on your intake you can attach a pressure gauge to a water passage. No need to drill and tap. Here is where I have mine. As yes a gauge that says fuel will work.

Go to summit racing and research your distributor. It will list which gear it has.

Maybe a simple comparison with the gear you have in there now. If itís the same run it. My 2 cents anyway.

The ramp is a pain because it launches right into open water and is only 2-3 trailers wide. It is protected a bit from the current but you get the waves from boats passing by. Usually a few people hang out to give each other a hand to hold boats and get everyone off the water safely. It's pretty crowded. You gotta get up early to get a spot. As the day goes on the water level comes up and makes for more room. It's usually 2 deep at the events. Sometimes 3 deep. So basically boats nose in on the beach then boats behind them anchored nose out.

Just make sure you have a good arc with the wire underneath with the boot pointing straight down. Using the wire loom retainers helps immensely.  I bought mine through summit. I think they were Taylor brand.
