Probably late here on this thread but Im willing to bet the amp was not turning on when the ipod was plugged into it. You have to wire the remote turn on wire to a switched place on the key or throw a toggle switch on it to turn it on and off.

Sorry Brad, I hope no one else clowns me. Seeing how you have always loved this boat you can thank me since I'm the original owner of this boat. I'm the one who gel coated it in the drive way, I'm the one who made the "custom " trailer, I'm the one who had the ford built with dual carbs and over the transom headers. I had stitchcraft do the interior and then you sell it and see it go to shit because people can't take care of it. The kid I sold it to had half the shit stolen off it , wrecked the trailer and god knows what else. It's just hard to see what is was to what it has become. Sorry if I offended anyone just was asking questions.

Wow I did not change the boat much from how I got it. Changed the intake manifold and tuned it a bit. When I got it it gps at about 65 does over 70 now. I would have loved to talk to you earlier to get some info on the motor as in what rpm etc it was suppost to run at I always thought it had more in it but did not have the time to spend. Sorry if the add offended you. My soon to be ex wife got the boat and she is the one who posted the add I could give a crap what she said. When we had it the boat was always stored indoors and honestly for the most part was a very fun boat. Thanks for the work you did on it as the motor was very reliable.

Hulls / Re: 78 eliminator 18ft bubbledeck
« on: November 03, 2011, 04:21:39 PM »
I have a 76 eliminator bubble deck. 514 ford with an aggressor jet does 73 mph at about 4800 rpm there is more mph in it but I dont currently have the funds or time to screw with it. Besides I told the wife anything over 70 and I am happy. Fun boat but I dont take it to Havasu or Mojave unless there is no wind. Spend most of my time in Needles or Parker because the river is much easier to deal with the chop. I have a hydraulic diverter and use it quite a lot. I keep it down when launching and slowly move it up when underway until the boat starts to feel more "free". When its all the way up it is hard to steer. Fun boat!!

So I went through this whole ordeal awhile back as well. From my research and from people who build Fords for boats it was single plane in a jet boat all day long. Torker 2, Victor, or the Trick Flow which is what I ended up with. DO NOT get the offy.

Audio / Re: About installing my new sound system?
« on: December 11, 2010, 08:51:58 PM »
Ditch the head unit, get n IPOD with a mini to RCA cable n plug it directly into the amp then use the amp out to the other amps. You can do it all with the IPOD or Zune or whatever you want.

There is some good info in here and some wrong information. I am not a motor guru but stereo crap is what I know best. 1: Keep the batts in the back 2: One alt should be fine but 2 battery's are needed in a big system in a boat. Get a switch so you can run one batt for the stereo and another to start the boat. 3: Boats are loud and in an open area you need more power. You NEED to use n amp if you want it to sound decent in a boat. With 2 12's under the bow facing forward with that much power you will be surprised how loud it is. It will more than likely flex your bow. 4: PLEASE don't use Dynamat or any other type of sound deadner. Dynamat removes resonance from METAL not fiberglass, to use it in a boat is a waste of money.

To make a recommendation on a system a few questions need to be asked.

1: How much bass do you like?
2: Do you want to rock your boat or the whole river or lake.

What I would do is put 1 12 facing forward under the bow on 1 amp and 4 3way 6x9's or 6.5 coax speakers for the seating area run off another amp. That keeps your weight down decent and gives you pretty damn good sound.

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Re: Carburater Selection
« on: November 08, 2010, 05:46:57 PM »
Long story short at about 4800 rpm it falls flat on its face. I am gonna try a QF 1050. I got a trick flow intake so i wanna stay 4150 carb.

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Re: Carburater Selection
« on: November 08, 2010, 07:46:09 AM »
I have that carb on my 514 ford n its not enough. I am by no means a motor guru but I have pretty well determined the carb is to small. Its for sale too!!

I dont post unless I have something worth a crap to add and that is about never.
