« on: August 13, 2010, 02:34:12 AM »
i NEED TO REPLACE A FROST EXPANSION PLUG IN MY 455 OLDS AND TO DO THIS I NEED TO LIFT THE ENGINE SEVERAL INCHES. TO SEPERATE ENGINE FROM JET DO i UNBOLT THE CONSTANT VELOSITY JOINT FROM THE FLYWHEEL, THEN REMOVE CLAMPHOLDING THE BELLHOUSING AND JET TOGETHER THEN UNBOLT THE BELLHOUSING FROM THE ENGINE? OTHER THEN SIMPLE ENGINE SWAP STUFF IS THERE JET RELATED STEPS I NEED TO KNOW? THANKS, BRAD
I don't know which plug your trying to repplace? but if its the one under the bellhousing on what  would be the driver's side in a car, to the left of the distributer?  that one should have a small pin whole (.040) in it.  for oiling the distributer shaft. sorry that this is my first post, I saw an opportunity to for a problem, I don't remember freeze plugs on the rear or front of olds blocks just galley plugs..
