Any spraying tips. I sprayed with a gravity feed gun about 25%-35% mix with aciton and it was a real rough finish had to sand smooth. I want to spray my inside transom and stringers and engine compartment but don't want to have to sand after. I had a painter buddy spray the bottom of another boat and it turned out great. no sanding after he finished. I have a 2.2 tip in the gun, spraying at 20 psi tried various air pressure and it didn't seem to change how it came out. Thanks

go with a 750 dp it will work now on a stock motor and if you want to bump up hp some  later it will probably still be ok.

I'll be 32 in a few weeks and was hating getting older. If you take a look back as you get older your boats get nicer and faster so how bad can it be? Started with a 19' southwind now in a tx-19 and 19 daytona. I'll take getting older not closer to death but retirement.

the white smoke as you probably already know means either water being combusted or crankcase oil being burned off...This will sound retarded, but have you checked the fuel for excess water? Sometimes the water sensors don't work, also have you put fuel filters in it?

I think when your trying to choose an impeller you choose it based off of engine hp and rpm it makes it at. If you have a motor that is making its hp at 6k than you want an impeller that will let you spin that rpm. I've herd that 7000 rpm's is what you want to stay around max. Don't quote me though.

I need some advise from you engine gurus. While I have the motor and pump out of the boat should I do anything to either. The working engine hour meter say 348 hours and the boat starts and runs fine . it think it is a fairly stock 460 and Im going to put new gaskets in to stop the oil leaks and some other dress up items but Im wondering if I should put in things like new bearings or have the heads looked at. Should I rebuild the pump thanks for any suggestions
I would put a set of aluminum heads on it. I guess it depends on your end result goal, fast or family? If your tearing it all the way down May as well rebuild it all. Then you Know what everything is and it's what you want.

justsquirtin might have the biggest fleet. (2) 78 southwind v bottoms (1) south dragster (1) place craft tunnel (1) eliminator v bottom
(1) eliminator daytona till I buy that one from him.

Fastest has to be three digits!  I don't have a confirmed top mph # but went 85 mph on primaries. It is also a family boat as long as I brought enough gas. It has a back seat

Hulls / daytona rock climber project

Starting the rock climber project pictures  to come. Have about five holes in the bottom of the boat ranging from 5-10 inches big. The bottom of the boat is a delta bottom and was wondering if I should convert it to a rounded since there is so much bottom work to be done anyways?  Should I set the pump back. It will be a drag boat.

The motor is very close to the back of the boat. I set the pump back to get the clean out all the way out andmoved the motor back with it. It is 6 1/2 inches back from stock location. It runs low 90's at about 7000 rpms. The pump in it now is a berk with a s/s a impeller. I am starting to do a tear down so probly won't be able to get mph picks up. I am switching back to other  pump after rebuild. Was looking for ideas to try while it is torn down. Am removing intake also because I don't think I put it in right. The front of the intake hangs down past the bottom of the boat a tinny bit. possable loading problem also. Has a loader from jbp on it also. Trimmed even to bottom of boat.

It is a blown 540 around 900-950 hp.
