The No Wake Zone / Moo boat

We took the kids to Castaic last Sunday and ran the boat around the lake for a few hours.  There were only three or four other boats out that morning.  My son and daughter drove it quite a bit.  We haven't had the boat out much.  This is the first time in quite a while.  It sat with a broken distributor for a few months.  Finally got that diagnosed and repaired by MSD.  The boat is basically the same as when we bought it from Ray.  We added a wooden steering wheel, a Hurst shifter knob, rewired some gauges, plumbed a water valve up at the driver's seat, put in an oil cooler.  We're thinking about to upholster the pulley cover in cowhide just to complete the whole theme.

Here I am, after a loooonng bumpy trip on the suckish 10 freeway. I met my new admirers and am now resting comfortably in my new stable awaiting the re-assebly of my motor. They tell me you can hear the concerts at the Rose Bowl from here. I hope there are some good cow boy-bands playing.

The No Wake Zone / What do you think?

Hi All,

Returning reader here. We sold our 73 Sleekcraft Rebel to a collector in Sweden and my poor husband has been so sad ever since.
I found this boat on Craigslist and thought I might buy it for him for a surprise gift. I talked to the owner and got him to come down on the price. Has a complete Olds 455 he said ran fine when he took it out to get the boat painted.  Really only need an interior and to be put back together.

Opinions please.

Pics are the boat we sold. Now living in Sweden. Do they have lakes there?

Hubbys b'day coming up. This is the big hint he dropped me.

Old 455   VC-485 Oldsmobile Aluminum Valve Covers with Script lettering.

Any ideas that won't break the bank.

I know they show up on Ebay every now and again.

Maybe I'll give him an IOU for when they do.

Sunday at Pyramid. Water was colder than anything, but my hubby managed a few good ski runs without losing too  many of his "important" parts.  ;)
We saw mayde 10 boats out there. Boat ran great!

I almost drown when I thought the boat was sinking . ::) But that's a story for a drunk posting.

Have a great day all.

We didn't stay long. It was windy as hell and choppy. Not to mention cold.
But we did get a few pics for you all to see.

we still have that new car smell.

But we have an old boat.Bought in July 2007.

73 Sleekcraft Rebel. Olds 455. New Bigs custom carb (purple...husband let me chose), fuel pump, some fancy $400 distributor....yada, yada, yada We had a bunch of work done at Blair Speedshop in Pasadena.

and today....towed off Castaic for the SECOND time. The lifeguards know our names.LOL

WTF now!

Anyway my husband won't let me post a picture of the whole boat cuz he's convinced someone will recognize it and laugh at us. I just got a teaser pic as he dragged
it back off to the shop.

I advised him to consult with the "Jet Boat Gods" here. We bow to your superior knowlege.

We will certainly be picking your brains, but not your....nevermind...
