I bought some wheels from Kartek last week, they sold me the bolt in 7/16 valve stems. Problem is on such a narrow rim, the valve stem hole is slightly on the curve of the bead so these stems leak very slowly. Is anyone else running this narrow of a wheel and if so, did installing a rubber stem work for you or did you have to run tubes?? TIA

Boat Showcase / New Float
« on: May 01, 2017, 02:24:14 PM »
So here's the new boat. 1980 Hondo 18'. Pretty stock 454 (.030 over), dominator pump (set back 5.5") ,ride plate, droop and diverter. It's got some fine cracking in the gel coat on the deck, other than that, it's pretty much flawless. Looking forward to taking it out. Probably going to hit up the green drink on Sunday for a little shakedown before hauling her all of the way to the river.

Boats For Sale / 21' cruiser (Shockwave)
« on: April 17, 2017, 02:15:50 PM »
After much thought and talking, the wife and I have decided a bigger boat isn't what we wanted after all. Looking to sell or trade our 2004 Shockwave 21 Skier. All original, only 140 hours in very good condition. Indmar 454 with a dominator pump and hydraulic diverter. Stereo system, in floor ski locker and ice chest, dual batteries on switch. Beautiful boat, just not for us like we thought it would be. Asking $22k or trade for smaller jet boat + cash. Not looking for a 20k jet boat though lol, maybe something around 10 to 12k, a little high performance but not a damn race boat. Pm me if you have questions, anyone who has met us can vouch for how clean this boat is. Not it in any hurry to sell. Interested in a 18' or 19', bubble deck or winger, must be a chevy with a berk/dominator/amer.turbine pump.

Just saw on the news that California went from being 92% of the state being in severe drought in 2016, to 40% of the state is completely out of the drought in just the past month. That's good news for the entire state obviously, but that some pretty exciting news for all the NorCal and central Cali guys that cant make it to the River as often  and for some of the So Cal guys that just wanna shoot over to the local pond for the day

« on: February 18, 2016, 08:35:02 PM »
I'm looking to buy another motorcycle, anyone interested in buying my MAC box. Jesse James edition. It's all flat black. 1 of 350. Obviously won't get near what I paid for it, but looking to get maybe 4500. The bottom box is a tech series. It has the stainless steel top on it. The top hutch has hydraulic shocks for the lid. And there is a cover for the whole thing. I'd be interested in trading for an older Harley.

So just in case I talk to one of you and you are wondering "WHO IS THIS GUY, IVE NEVER TALKED TO HIM". I have only met maybe 2 or 3 members here in person, Im hoping to meet a lot more this summer. Im always at Silverwood, occasionally I make it out to the river. So if you recognize my old boats that I no longer own (Orange one and purple one) or you see me in either of my current ones (Blue one and green one) stop by and have a Coors on me.

Is anyone going to be in Havasu next week during the week? I will be out there with some friends and 2 or 3 boats from Monday the 14th thru Thurs the 17th. Hoping maybe some locals will be able to get out there and meet up at the sandbar or something.

Trailers / Very hot brakes
« on: August 03, 2015, 04:38:08 PM »
So coming home from Silverwood on Saturday, I had to come down through Crestline because of the 138 being closed by the 15 because of a fire, when I got to the bottom of the hill at Waterman, my brakes smelled very burnt, and they had gotten so hot, all of my wheel bearing grease had become liquified and was dripping out. I have an Extreme trailer with the sliding tongue for the brakes and although I kept my truck in low gear and did not hit the brakes very much, I think just the weight of the boat going down hill is what caused the brakes to be applied. 3 questions........ 1. should 1 replace the brake pads even if they still have quite a bit of material left? 2. Should I replace those wheel bearings or just re-pack them? 3. What should I have done to prevent this from happening? Any help would be appreciated.

« on: August 05, 2014, 06:23:21 PM »
This was my primary boat until it got stolen and i got it back with no motor, no interior and no wiring. I was going to put it back together but i bought another boat. The hull is a full stringer sitting on a single axle trailer. It has both fuel tanks and berkeley jet with diverter. I also have a mercruiser 454 to put in it that was rebuilt (i got it that way so i have no history on the motor) id like to get $2300 or ill trade all of it for a paint job or vinyl wrap on my other boat.
