Boat Showcase / Sanger with the new power plant
« on: September 22, 2009, 08:46:38 AM »
It has been a long 8 months but the 514 is in the sanger and it is alive. This video was from a THB get together we had last weekend.
This was the first time she got wet with the new motor and i am pleased with the way it ran. My boat starts at the 2:50 mark of the video.
She is not te fastest boat on the water by any means but runs pretty good for the family boat.

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / BBC 496 ??
« on: August 18, 2009, 09:25:28 AM »
I know there are many variables to a motor combo but lets say the motor has everything I was told it did on the inside and it is all good and reusable. I have a 496 BBC that seems tight. Has a steel crank HBeam rods solid roller do not know lift or piston type. The motor so say is running 11.0:1 CR. What would it take to make an 800 ish HP pump gas motor or is this even possible? I would say crank rods and pistons could stay I am sure new heads and cam would be in order and if this could happen what would be the best route to take to get there?

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / 514 Cam Help
« on: August 13, 2009, 01:55:20 PM »
Just bulit a 514 stroker and made to pulls on the dyno yesterday and the numbers where much lower than i hoped for. I am 99% it is my cam shaft hurting me. I am going to change the rockers tonight and they will make a another pull on Monday (they are closed tomorrow) I am running 1.7 now and going to throw on some 1.8 to make sure it is my cam choking the motor.
Here are the details from i recall. Has been a long process so i do not recall all the exact numbers internally for the bulid
514 Ford
Pro Comp Super Cobra Jet 95cc heads
Manley SS valves can not recall the numbers right off hand
Heads are flowing 335
Weiland dual four tunnel ram
X2 QFT 750's
SRP flat tops
10.7:1 comp
Eagle crank
Eagle H-beam rods
Full MSD box soft touch everything
Pulled good tq at 675 ftlb but the hp was at 525 at 4,900 then just went flat as flat can be
The cam i am running now is 577 lift 284 dur hydraulic roller
What would you guys suggest i change it to? I have to stay under .700 due to the heads will not flow any more than that
Sorry for the long post and TIA
Stuart

WTB / Progressive linkage for a dual four setup.
« on: March 16, 2009, 02:18:33 PM »
Hello
you guys helped me out last week with another issue and I am trying to pick your brains a little more. I am new to this site and thanks indance for the help. I am having a heck of a time locating a progressive linkage kit for side way mount 4150's?
I have also attached a few picures of my 79 sanger. The motor is out at this time as I pulled the running 460 to switch to a 514 stroker.
