The No Wake Zone / Where are the molds ??
« on: February 07, 2020, 05:14:37 PM »
Throwing this one out to the community.
You can not tell me there is not a market for
our style of water hot rods?
Is there no boat builder willing to dabble in the
high performance 'sexy' low profile
water skimming squirters we all love?
So my question is .., where have the Barron,
Eliminator, Sanger, Cougar, Kachina etc, etc molds
all gone??
We have such a great group of pioneer jet boat
builders/mechanics/salesman/racers etc, etc.
Please chime in and discuss why these boats
are not a viable product in these times ..  ??

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / hp or torque?
« on: November 08, 2019, 05:15:50 PM »
prolly been discussed before but..
which one matters most?
to the simple minded (me) I know the faster the pump shaft spins the faster my jet boat goes.  easy
but do I need more hp..  or more torque to go faster?
reading the 'definitions' doesn't help this simple mind.
need a 'now i got it' explanation please

The No Wake Zone / Canvas Boat Cover
« on: August 20, 2019, 09:48:33 AM »
Does anyone make/sell these canvas covers anymore? (custom to 19' jet boat) This is the original cover purchased with the boat in 1979. It is good quality with reinforcements where required. Sadly 40 yrs has taken its toll and the canvas has become 'rotten'. I checked a local canvas/tent/awning shop for a quote on copying this original cover and they came back with $1150.00 low to $1500.00 high. (that's a +1000% increase from 1979). Am I out of touch of when canvas turned to gold?? I bought a Bass Pro (bass boat) cover for $150 but it fits like crap and is like a parachute when driving in poor weather.  Any leads are appreciated..thx

Jet Pumps / Place Diverter installation fit issues
« on: July 22, 2019, 09:16:14 PM »
Spent an entire Saturday (unsuccessfully) installing a new place diverter.
Berkeley 12jc pump
after installing and removing the pivot pins and nylon bushings over and over and over... you get the picture
The upper pin and bushing go in ... the bottom pin will NOT go in using the nylon bushing.        And visa / versa.    grrrrrrrrr
desperate and any suggestions welcome?
(oh yeah, both pins can be installed IF i elect to leave 1  nylon bushing on the garage floor)   Not comfortable running it that way and shouldn't need to??
when the cat puked on the instructions I took that as a sign to abort the mission and reinstall the original until I can figure this out

hi everyone,
just purchased my 'forever' boat last weekend out of Boise Idaho, from the son of the original owner. It's a 1979 Hallett 19' Bubbbledeck c/w 454ci 333hp Berkeley 12JC pump all original (unmolested). She was purchased @ ETCO Marine in Visalia CA in '79' and I have the original invoice. The son inherited the boat 2 years ago and confessed 'he's just not into it', even though growing up skiing behind it   :-\ ??
Well... I am so proud to be the 'next' owner!!
The pump was rebuilt in 2012 at Champion Marine, Canoga Park, CA (i have that invoice too). Now I have to 'shake her down' in the next few weeks, as the son has not got her wet since 2017.
This is like a 'barn find' to me and I feel blessed!
Here's a couple picture from the drive home @ Massacre Rocks State Park, ID.
