Boat Showcase / HONDO GT DECK
« on: January 31, 2018, 08:59:47 PM »
I've been collecting photos of Hondo's with the GT deck for years.  I've heard conflicting reports on how many were produced and have decided to start posting pictures here in hopes of getting feedback and maybe more pictures of other boats I've missed.

The No Wake Zone / ISO building contractor.
« on: January 28, 2018, 04:46:18 PM »
I wanted to put this out to the SCJB family before flipping through the yellow pages.

I've been wanting to build a shop/garage at my place for many years, and I'm kicking it around again.  This time I've realized I can't do it myself... So, I'm looking for a referral to someone you know, or someone on SCJB that is a General Contractor that is willing to build in Mentone CA.  I'm in San Bernardino county luckily, and don't have to deal with city of Redlands building issues.

The No Wake Zone / Entry level RV tech
« on: June 28, 2017, 04:32:47 PM »
Looking for someone in the Inland Empire area.

My shop is looking for an entry level tech that we can teach to do services, maintenance and simple repairs on motorhomes and light trucks.  Will need his own basic tools and a cart to start.  If you know of a young person with some mechanical ability and a good attitude that is able to get here on time, everyday, Mon-Fri (Yes, all five days in a row), we would like to talk to him.

Have them call KC or Mike at (909) 792-0314 or come by the shop and fill out an application.

The No Wake Zone / SCJB on two wheels...
« on: May 01, 2017, 08:59:45 PM »
I know that many of us get together away from the water and enjoy other motorized shenanigans... So, how about posting some pics and info on your two wheeled rides.   Cruiser, sport, race, dirt, classic it doesn't matter, let us know what you enjoy.

Here's my latest addiction.

Most powder coaters have components sand (media) blasted before coating.  Don't spend too much time on them before talking to whatever company you decide to use.

WarZone / 20 Ways To Tell If You Might Be A Liberal
« on: February 07, 2016, 08:01:55 PM »
I found this on another non-boating site I've been lurking in.  Too good to pass up.

20 Ways To Tell If You Might Be A Liberal
John Hawkins | Dec 22, 2015

Are you not sure that you’re a liberal? Well, there’s an easy way to find out. You might be a liberal if:

1) ….Your newspaper calls people “bigoted” for being worried about bringing Syrian refugees to America, but you won’t run pictures of Muhammad because you’re afraid Muslims might kill you for it.

2) ….You think every man accused of sexual assault is guilty until proven innocent except Bill Clinton.

3)….You insist that anyone who questions global warming hates science even though you don’t understand any of the science behind it yourself and you say we have to do something about climate change primarily because you want to impress your liberal friends.

4) ….You are terrified that holding terrorists at Guantanamo Bay who are trying to murder Americans might make the other terrorists who are trying to murder Americans mad.

5) ….You believe there’s a “Republican War on Women;” yet you are okay with aborting baby girls for any reason, think any man who says he identifies as a woman should be able to use the women’s bathroom and you want to put Bill Clinton back in the White House.

6) ….You claim to constantly hear Republican “dog whistles” that 99% of the population misses; yet you’d deny you’re racist for insisting that black Americans aren’t competent enough to get an ID to vote.

7) …You think there’s a possibility that Obama might be able to have a productive conversation with radical Islamists who want to kill us, but dialogue with the NRA is impossible.

8)….You believe Hillary Clinton is telling the truth. About anything. Ever.

9) ….You simultaneously believe the police are violent trigger-happy racists who shoot people for no good reason and that we should disarm the populace so that only the government has guns.

10) ….You went to a talk given on your campus by a conservative just so you could scream at him for “invading your safe space.”

11) ….You think Chris Kyle was a monster for killing so many enemies of America while Bowe Bergdahl deserves to be treated with respect and compassion after deserting his unit.

12) ….You believe you’re a caring and compassionate person because you advocate giving other people’s money away to people you hope will vote for candidates you like.

13) ….You believe that anyone who dislikes Barack Obama must hate him because he’s a minority, but your hatred of Ted Cruz and Clarence Thomas is perfectly justifiable.

14) ….You think you are a sophisticated person with a deep understanding of complex political issues, but sum up every one with some variation of, “Republicans are evil, racist, and they hate you while liberals like me are nice!”

15) ….You think it’s vitally important to increase the number of Muslim immigrants coming to America so they can inform on all the other Muslims who are planning terrorist attacks.

16) ….You blame the Republicans for the failure of Obamacare even though none of them voted for it.

17) ….Your first response to a terrorist attack committed by radical Islamists who’ve sworn allegiance to ISIS is to try to disarm every law-abiding gun owner in the country.

18) ….You think an unemployed, white factory worker who’s struggling to feed his family has some sort of racial privilege compared to Barack Obama, Melissa Harris Perry or Al Sharpton.

19) ….You say fences don’t work and gun-free zones do, but if Republicans wanted the fence around the White House taken down and demanded that the Secret Service be disarmed, you’d accuse them of trying to get Obama killed.

20) ….You believe Bruce Jenner is a woman, Rachel Dolezal is black and Elizabeth Warren is an Indian.

WTB / ISO 76-77 Fantasy
« on: June 10, 2015, 07:13:28 PM »
I've been assigned the task of finding the Drivers childhood jet boat.  Any help would be appreciated.  My FIL ordered it as a bare hull and rigged it himself.  It's a '76-'77 Fantasy and he sold it to someone from Downey or Lakewood around '79-'80.  It was yellow/white with a green stripe border around the yellow.

The No Wake Zone / Thank you SCJB members, you are the best!
« on: April 08, 2015, 07:00:04 PM »
As many of you know I've been building an old truck for my daughter to drive.  Many of you also know my daughter is spoiled... big time!  And not just by me, many of you have helped with this project by donating parts, giving me great deals on the stuff I have purchased and a few with muscle when needed.  So, I'm going to post a few pictures of the progress and give a shout out to a few of the incredibly generous people that have helped in so many ways.

Thank you to all who have contributed to this project.
Nordie, Hallett Dave, Nasty Nate, 1sleek1, Sam Carlos, Flusher, Beaveretriever and everyone else that I might have missed.

The No Wake Zone / River trip, weekend of 7/12
« on: July 09, 2014, 06:57:13 PM »
Alright everyone... Who is going to be on the river this weekend, and where?

It looks like I might actually have a weekend without any pre-scheduled events, so I'm trying to go to the river.  ;D

I'm considering Blythe, Big River or even AVI.

The No Wake Zone / GoPro back from the dead.
« on: August 24, 2013, 01:12:16 PM »
Most of you didn't know that I dunked my GoPro camera last week at the river, because I normally keep my mouth shut when I *uck up!

Anyway it would not do anything except light the red light if plugged in to charge the battery, Nothing, Nada, Zero...

So after a week in a bag of rice and no change, I started looking for a replacement and/or repair options.  I found a site that a guy was getting results by giving it a vinegar bath, so I gave it a try... I tested it again about 6 hours after the bath and it started and functioned (just minutes before I was going to give a last minute bid on a replacement).  I've taken a couple short videos and watched them to confirm that they looked normal  ;D

So, I'm giving the link to the guys site with the info on how it was done.  Maybe it'll help someone else around here.

Events / You're invited to Crewchief's 45th birthday bash
« on: February 08, 2013, 11:41:38 PM »
Michelle (The Driver) has requested that I post a "save the date" for my birthday party she is planning for Saturday April 6th 2013.

I would love to have my SCJB family come out and have a great time with us at PianoPiano Dueling piano show at the Doubletree hotel in Claremont Ca.

We're going to have to make reservations so If I can get a head count by the end of March we should be good (I'll have to call to see).

And since it appears to be at a hotel it might be a good idea for those of us that shouldn't be driving to reserve a room ahead of time.
