Suggestions / Support / How do you log out of the chat room?
« on: January 25, 2008, 04:14:10 PM »
I went into chat looking for UNDONE; wasn't there; I left by logging off the main 'logout' button; logged back in to main site but it still shows me in chat room.

The No Wake Zone / Jeep GC: reset "engine light"
« on: January 25, 2008, 03:26:14 PM »
Anyone know how to reset (turn off) 'engine' (aka 'idiot') light on Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.0?
Does that have to be done by computer?

I was messing with something in my jeep and unplugged sensor into throttle body; must have been smog related because now the engine light is on (and I want it off). I have to get it smogged and will not pass with the light on.

Suggestions / Support / Marking single topic as read

Can a check box be put next to a topic, when reviewing unread topics, that would mark only that single topic as read (w/o opening the thread)?
You can 'mark all messages read' but it would be nice to be able to click off single topics.

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / 455 square exhaust manis
« on: January 14, 2008, 03:43:28 PM »
I meant to post this before the bidding ended in case someone here was interested but I forgot about them.
Anyone seen these square manifolds before? I think they would look pretty good.

Packers vs Giants

Anyone want to meet in OC to make some exchanges and hang-out tomorrow (Sat, Jan5)?

The rain has cancelled an all-day event for me tomorrow and freed me up to make some parts pickups from SCJB folks; I'm getting some wheels from boost in Pomona and gas tank from hotrod in El Cajon (may not do both tomorrow); however, in trying to figure this out, I found out some other folks may be going in similar directions (brendella to hotrod's; beerjet/brendella to Anaheim; Ralph maybe to Brad's to pick up stuff).

I was hoping to have Ralph, or anyone else in-the-know, take a look at my motor condition and give some pointers; me, flytime, Brad, jimbo are within a mile or two of each other; if this works out and folks want to swing by my place, must remember, GOOD BEHAVIOR only; I have 3 children who were raised to believe that 'stupid' is a bad word (I wasn't a prude until I started raising children).

Just a thought; otherwise I'll make the drive(s).

The No Wake Zone / Winter Solstice : Dec 22
« on: December 22, 2007, 09:46:14 PM »
Today is Winter Solstice; the shortest day of the year and official first day of winter; but to me, since it's the shortest day, from this day on each day gets longer, which means summer is coming.

Suggestions / Support / Shout Box
« on: December 21, 2007, 02:42:24 PM »
Can the Shout Box be the top bar on the left on the home page so it can be seen without scrolling down?
I think it used to be that way but now when I get to the home page, the top box on left side is the menu; which is uneccessary since the menu is in the header bar (this is repetitive); maybe this is an option setting I can't locate.
I don't often look at the Shout Box (usually go straight to unread posts since last visit); however, if it were right there for me to see when the home page loads, I'd take a glance.

OK; haven't been logged on in about 2 months; I hope everyone is well (and welcome to the newbies since then).
I spent some time earlier today catching up but in case I missed anything good, I'm looking for some suggested threads to read that I may have missed and you think are interesting.

The No Wake Zone / Berk 12JC over $700
« on: August 21, 2007, 01:49:55 PM »

This Berk 12JC went for over $700 on eBay (9 bidders); I was watching it just for fun and it was mentioned on another thread; didn't think the JC would go that high.

There is/was a complete 12JC on eBay and the last time I looked at it, it was at $600.

I cant believe that a 12JC pump is going for that much.
I just saw a complete 12JG pump go for $271 a few weeks ago......12JG being the more saught after package.

Just saw this on CL; don't think it's appropriate; should be reported.  ;D

A similar post a few months back is what turned me onto; I've been on SCJB nearly every day since.

Boats For Sale / Hook up and go
« on: August 01, 2007, 04:19:37 PM »

Probably not such a bad deal here (it'll likely go for less) but it seems odd that the pics were taken on the side of some road; if I knew where that road was I'd just drive over, hook up and go  >:D

How can I get help with my rusted/stuck engine if everyone is out on the water or working on their boat?

OK; I'll get back to it and see what I can do. Later.

If you're not on the water somewhere, you should be working on those projects, or doing some fine-tuning, today.

I'll be opening up my 455 olds to see if I can't free her up.

Does anyone is OC have an Olds 455 starter laying around that I can borrow?

OK; the Kona wiring is complete; the only hold up to the next step is a starter; honestly, I don't want to buy one now because I don't even know if the engine will turn (it sure won't w/o a starter  ;) ; I thought someone locally may have one laying around I could throw in to see what I've got at this point.
I went to a couple auto part stores today to get a cheapie but none in stock.

The No Wake Zone / Would this work?? Mini Starter

Would sure make a little more room for work space if needed to work in that area; it was quite difficult today to pull my starter with the engine in the boat.

The No Wake Zone / 1 month ANNIVERSRY : a lot in a month
« on: June 02, 2007, 11:17:34 PM »
I just looked at my profile and today is my 1 month anniversary on SoCalJetBoats; thanks to help from a lot of folks on this board, it's been an eventful month. I joined SCJB after seeing Brad's listing on Craig's List; since I've wanted a boat for some time but was never able to get into one, I joined as 'wanabe' because 'I want to be' a boat owner; I sure didn't expect to have a boat one month later, but, as mentioned above, with a lot of help from many folks on this board, I came upon the right deal (yet to be seen if I can get it running:; it may not be exactly what I wanted (an open bow would have been better for the family), but it's a start.

I've gone from 'newbie' to 'jr member' in the month and with all the questions I'm coming up with to post for help, I should hit full member quickly.

I'm glad to be a member of the group!
