The Mooboat is still for sale.  '78 Sleekcraft. Berkeley jet. Place diverter. Very low hours on engine.  Most don't want a boat painted like a cow.  I like it though but am forced to sell to pay an ugly tax bill. If you have any questions or want to see it, pm me or email me at

I listed my '78 Sleekcraft on Craigslist March 5th.  Here's the link:
It's a BBF with a Berkeley jet.  The engine was built by Blair's in Pasadena.  I've only had it out to the lake about 9-10 times.  The kids are older and aren't interested in boating much anymore.  I'd hang on to this boat otherwise.  It's listed at $5500 obo.  We're in Pasadena if you'd like to look at it.  Thanks, Don

Hey Ray!  Yup Moo is for sale.  It's sad, but haven't taken her out much, just twice this season.  And the
storage fees are killing us.  Moo still runs great, I suppose the carb reverse kit has helped a lot.

We took the kids to Castaic last Sunday and ran the boat around the lake for a few hours.  There were only three or four other boats out that morning.  My son and daughter drove it quite a bit.  We haven't had the boat out much.  This is the first time in quite a while.  It sat with a broken distributor for a few months.  Finally got that diagnosed and repaired by MSD.  The boat is basically the same as when we bought it from Ray.  We added a wooden steering wheel, a Hurst shifter knob, rewired some gauges, plumbed a water valve up at the driver's seat, put in an oil cooler.  We're thinking about to upholster the pulley cover in cowhide just to complete the whole theme.

There's supposed to be a sign there at the barn that says your entering the town of Milo.  That old original wooden sign was in my Uncle's barn for years.  He had a ranch outside of Springville, just a few miles from my grandparents'.  He was going to restore the sign, but don't think he ever did. I imagine the sign is still in his barn.  A lot of history passed on when he did.  Ironically, he started the Springville museum which is next to the rodeo grounds.  Is the Springville Inn still there?

As a kid, we visited my Grandparents ranch every summer - very hot!  They lived about 10 miles outside of Springville - turn left at the white barn outside of town keep driving and hope you don't get hit by a logging truck.   Lots of great memories!

Don't really know. Haven't ran it. It came with the Moo, but decided to go with an MSD.

With the valve at the driver's seat, it sounds like a fail safe for the t-valve.  The Banderlog sounds like it's great until breaks.  Has anyone plumbed a valve to override a Banderlog just in case?  Ultimately, if I ever want to ski, Jana has to feel comfortable driving it without worrying about the valve at the driver's seat.

Thanks Ray!  I picked up a Banderlog on eBay for around $100.
I showed it to Phil at Blairs, who's fixing stuff up on Moo.
He had concerns about reliability and recommended the t-valve
with a valve at the driver's seat. This sounds good, but I might
be looking over at the exhaust a lot.  Don

Banderlog - why would this be good to run?  Do they ever fail?

It's a good thing I was joking then! My husband would kill me if I gave him that!  >:D

Tacky, really? It's already painted like a cow for christ's sake!!
