I ran that type of mount for a season and a half racing ! Worked OK till we started to make over 580hp ! And then the car mount steel was the week point, kept bending &  them.

One more thing, what neccesitates (sp?) the use of stud girdles?? Lift? RPM?  ???

Spring presure, cam lift and duration as well as RPM.

But in the average lake style boat you should not need a ton of lift, spring presure or duration. It is all good and well to have a fast boat and for it to sound mean as hell, but why ? When you go out with your family and you can't run mufflers (too much back presure), Your ears start to bleed from 800 BBF hp on dry headers and you have to shut it down when every the cops are around what good is it really ? Yes it is way cool, and I love the sound ! But not practical. You can make 550hp & 600'lbs with a very mild combo 9:1, 278 XM cam, Stealth intake and some real good head work. As long as you do plenty of block and head prep the thing should live at 5K for a very long time and be easy on parts.

Does anyone have any performance info / feedback on these?  What kind of power gains, etc.  Are they worth the money?

Thanks,
Cole

The biggest most important question is do you have an enclosed engine compartment ?
If so you need the Marine version if not go with the 6AL. They are all about the same in the way of water resistance but the USCG stamp and aprovale is why it has the extra cost, spark surpresion !

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Beerjet has little birdies flying around his head - not butterflies.   ;)

I saw him using a Shotgun at Parker in April, Ducks !
I am just surprised he didn't have a dog with him or waders ! ;D

The cool thing is there are some people coming out this way soon for the SCORE race, I am sure someone would have room in there truck to get it back close to you and then maybe someone else can get it even closer and so on.

Just a thought !

Is anyone going to help wanabe out ?

WTB / Re: Tubes
« on: January 21, 2008, 05:25:00 PM »
Go to the hardware store and get some black pipe cut it in the middle. Then cut the ends at the same angle the tubes are cut in you other headers. $2.65 and some labor !

Yes it can cause an over charge but it looks cooler !
As long as there are hole in the bottom or back of the scoop you would be fine, except if you get roosted. Then you will eather have very clean pistons tops or a hydro-locked engine.

For a Pan-E-Vac system . All I need Is the tubes that go into the headers if anyone has any they are kicking around .

Not sure but I think the Moroso Kit and the Mr. Gasket kit are around $28 and they come with the one way valves.
